How might (or how has) your birth order affect your decisions on family dynamics when forming a family of your own. (ie: when to marry, how many children, when to have children, etc)?

Thank you!

My sister is six years younger than me, so I got to help take care of her when we were growing up. As far as I'm concerned, that was the best form of birth control ever. By the time I was in high school, I could still remember what a pain it was to always have to look after her, and take her with me whenever I wanted to go out with friends, or stay in on the weekends to babysit, so I was in no hurry to have kids of my own.

When I think about having kids now, I'm sure I don't want as big an age gap as 6 years if I have more than one kid. I've even given serious thought to just having one kid, but I'm still torn. I get along great with my sister, and we have crazy inside jokes and lots of good times to look back on, but I don't know how I feel about raising more than 1 kid.
