The best way to treat for spiders is to spray the web with an insecticide. All web spinning spiders must consume their previous web before spinning a new one. If the web has been treated the spider will die after consuming the old web.Remember, spiders are not insects, rather they are arachnids. Residual pesticides will have no effect on spiders. They walk above the residue, not through it.

i have no idea if that will work on spiders, but i found a few links you might look at and see if they help
http://www.spiderrepel.com/
http://www.hedgeapple.com/
and here is a repellant you can make yourself at home
A Natural Spider Spray Formula for inside the house:
Dr Bronners Peppermint or Lavender Soap, or any other natural soap.
1 ounce of Neem oil
You can also add 1 to 5 drops of any of these Essential Plant Oils (depending on your preference) to 1 quart of water:
Catnip Oil, Citronella Oil, Lavender Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Peppermint Oil, Citrus Oil, Tea Tree Oil, or other essential oils.
Add 5 tablespoons of the soap per quart water. Add one ounce of the Neem oil to the water which you have added the soap and label it. Shake well and spray inside house where spiders are seen. Test for strength. May be done as often as needed. This is not a long term solution but will provide you immediate help. Oils may stain some fabrics or light colored furnishings, test first.
Spray outside the house:
Use the same formula to spray the foundation, eaves and soffits, and the areas around doors, windows and crawls space, or attic vents, or any area where you see spiders congregating. You can also use any citrus based cleaner like Citra Solv at 1 oz per quart water. Spray around the outside of the house or where spiders congregate.
Spiders are actually quite beneficial and we should try to get used to them.

nope! I suggesst using a spider poison. I use the max ortho outside to keep them from comming in and I use an indor spray around the floorboards and any holes in the walls including the dryer vent. We have really huge nasy ones and they scare not only me but my little girls too. I also have a can of raid spider killer on hand for the ones that I am afraid to squish (being that they are so big I'm afraid they will bite me through my shoe). another suggestion is to (as boring as it sounds) keep a very clean house, at least for a while. Keeping a very clean house keeps them from having hiding spaces.

The electronic repellents I bought didn't work and I even woke up one morning to find a wolf spider sitting on one. Also, everyone I know that has them tells me they don't work. I had my best luck with peppermint oil; I just put it in my bedrooms and other places I don't want spiders and dont put it where I want them like my basment and attic, etc. Try it, it works and just throw those repellents away. Good luck, hope it helps.

I don't think there's a whole lot you can do about spiders exept to kill them when you see them. It's even hard for exterminators to help with spiders because the spiders are extended from their silk web a lot of times instead of on the wall that would have the insecticide on it. I would do a google search on how to get rid of spiders indoors.

No. Spiders "hear" by touch on their web or on the ground in the case of tarantulas. I hope you don't have tarantulas in the house!
Use your vacuum daily paying special attention to corners, baseboards and around windows. Spiders are just coming in from the cold.
As for the electric repellents for the other pests mentioned, don't bother.

Sticky traps catch everything. Put lots of them around, all year. Cheap and no smell.
