My husband had a vasectomy 9 years ago. This is a second marriage for both of us. We both would like to have a child together. Has anyone out here in Y/A had a reversal with success? Or with failure?

Recanalisation is possible though the surgery is not hundred percent effective. Go for it and try your luck.

Some friends of ours recently went through this. He had his vasectomy reversed and all went well. She was pregnant within a couple of months.
This actually happened to two couples we know.
I know the first friend had his vasectomy at least 10 years ago if not more.

You need to check with a urologist or even your gynae/obst would know. The longer the period of time that has elapsed since a vasectomy, the less chance there is of a successful reversal, I have heard.

I haven't had the first hand experience, but I work in the OR and I have seen the reversal. The surgeon said that there is a high chance of them making babies!!!!! Its pretty painful for the guy though, just so you know.

9 years is not such a long time, try the reversal and hopefully it will work, if it doesn't, I think you can still have IVF treatment, but they actually retreive sperm from the testes [without ejaculation] to fertilize your egg. Good luck X
