It means that reality is not subjective. For example, if I do not believe that your gun is loaded, it doesn't make me any less dead if you shoot me with it. This is the sort of thing we bring up to athiests all the time.

It doesn't mean very much at all.
Afterall... different people can believe different things.
And if I can believe everything away then that means by said statement that "reality is nothing".
Afterall.... there is no thing that refuses to go away if you stop believing in it... Only nothingness remains, and since that is a lack of anything else.... it cannot itself be removed.
As for those folks who choose to use such a statement to justify some sort of "objective reality" .... not only do they fail to account for the original statement being nonsensical or false.... but as I have already stated... it needn't mean that anyway.

Whatever happen in the reality is what you need to believe. Stop believing won't change what had happen in the reality.

I think it means that the more you discontinue to believe in something and the more you think you could stop caring about it; the more it becomes apparent and the more you realize you cannot escape it.. if that makes any sense..

It means there are absolutes in this life that are present whether you believe or acknowledge them or not. For instance...if I am in a classroom and I close my eyes and believe with all my heart that I am on a beach..I am still in the classroom.

Basically, when somebody is denial, and they are trying to escape reality, it will just bug them.
E.g, if your pissed, you try thinking everything will be fine, but this only plagues you even more, and you think about your problem once more

He is saying that when you only believe in things, rather than simply experiencing things for what they are, you are not living in the real world.
