Because they like being America's Hat

Because Canada is an independent nation. This was determined by the War of 1812. Canadians in general do not want to be a part of the US. Look at a map sometime. Canada is just about the size of the U.S. If it were the 51st state, the population alone would make it the most powerful state in the nation.

DUH..

I suggest you read up on the North American Union. That is the direction both the Democrats and Republicans are taking us. Each of the Canadian Providences will have equal rights with each US state, same with the Mexican states. There will be no borders and thus no "illegal immigration" problem.

They will write up a new NAU Constitution and you can bet the Bill of Rights as we know it will not be included.

The ONLY Politician who is running for President who is against the NAU is Jon Paul. All the rest want to be the first President of a new nation.

At the rate you all are using up your resources, a better question would be why not join us as a Province? Won't be long before our fresh water and oil is going to seem mighty attractive. No Canadian in their right mind would willingly vote to become part of the U.S.. This is not a dig against you all, just a fact. We are as proud of our nation as you are and will defend it as fervently as anyone. Would you consider giving up your independence, your history, your culture, uniqueness to join someone else? Thought not, and neither would we. Feel free to ask though but better yet, post this question in the travel section, under Canada and see the responses you get. Have a great day and don't forget to rake your leaves, they keep blowing into my yard, lol.

With more and more American companies and retail stores established here in Canada, there's hardly a difference between the two countries anyway. And as far as people go, Canadians and Americans are pretty much the same. Same poop, different pile, that's all.

Lol, that's mean. Not all of us Americans think that way.

P.S Contrary to popular belief, the US does not want to conquer every country in the world.

Oh Pleeeze! How in the world would that benefit Canada?

Because they don't want to give up their Independence, Liberty, Prosperity, sound currency, safety and pure food laws and National Health Plan.

And nobody in their right mind would want to buy into owing a piece of the US National Debt.

There is no way Canada would want to do that, much too snobby and believe they are superior to us. Plus pot is legal there, if they became a US state it would have to be illegal again. Canada is a huge country anyway, it's too large to be just a state.
