And a little white girl with her mom points at you and yells "LOOK, MOMMY! A BLACK PERSON! A BLACK PERSON! MOMMY! LOOK!" Would you be angry, even though she's only a little girl? Just wondering. Hypothetical question, by the way.

Nah, I wouldn't be angry; I'd shove it off a few minutes later

I might even laugh about it lol

You know, I thought about my sons. And they would never say look at a black, white, Asian etc. person and say something like that. They have thankfully been raised around different cultures and are mixed themselves. I'm white, hubby's black, my sister's married to a Hispanic etc. They've lived in LA around my husbands family, went to school w/ all races, live in CA w/ my family going to school w/ all races.
I am truly blessed.

I don't think anyone would get mad at a child for saying something like that, they are just a child. But, if the child used a derogatory comment, then I think and hope that the person would confront the parent because the child most likely learned it from the parent.

God Bless!

Happened to me at church before (the girl was a teenager, too) and yes I was angry. Wouldn't a white person be angry if the situation was flipped so that it was a black person saying "Look mommy a white person! A white person! Look!" Of course. It's only natural. I'd be more angry at her mother for not exposing her to different cultures.

Thumbs down to the truth, right?

Hypothetical? Nah. I've actually had that happen to me.

I was totally upset - not so much b/c the child said that but b/c the parent was absolutely silent as if it was an acceptable thing to do.
I glared at the mother and kept walking, completely ignoring the child.

It does happen. When I was 17 my friends and I were on the bus and a white woman with her two small kids got on and the little boy said to his mother, "mommy look n*gg*rs". We didn't say anything, he was too young to know any better, children only repeat and imitate what they see and hear their parents do.

I would probably laugh...

i don't really think i'd be mad, i mean, i AM in fact black so it's not like she's pointing out something thats not true,

but i'd assume she's not that familiar with seeing black people so it's a rare thing.

It's like a child saying, look mommy, a pony! children tend to do that when they see something they recognize, but aren't really around it, so it excites them in a way...

You are a bit late....Children says that all the time... Now you know how racism is developed, it starts at the home, I mean why do you need to point out a person if they are black I don't get the point at all!! Why don't the parents just say thats another person like you... jeez!!

I wouldn't be angry. She's probably just never seen a black person before. But I would wonder where they live, that she hasn't seen anyone with dark skin before, lol. I imagine it would be more embarrassing for the mother than for me.

Had this happen thousands of times.

There just kids. Why would any sane person go crazy off of that?

Hell

Even adults act like that when they see me.

I get mistaken for black/asian or black mixed alot. Meh.

I would probably laugh. If they kept their child sheltered to the point where she's never seen black ppl than how can I be mad?
