I was a junior in high school in my 1st period U.S. History class. The TV in our classroom didn't work, so our teacher made us all go to another classroom to watch it all unfold. T
his guy was a GREAT teacher, we never had play time, and when he was asked why he didn't continue to teach history that day, he said he didn't need to, it was history in the making. Very true I thought!

I had just gotten to work and heard a snip of something on the radio. So I went online to the local news and was shocked. At first I thought it was an accident as well, then the second plane hit. The more I heard the more terrified I was. My son was in 1st grade an hour and a half away. My boss sent everyone home. I couldn't get hold of my husband as the cell phone lines were jammed, he finally got me on the phone 3 hours later and came home. It was a day of watching the TV reports and calling friends and relatives to make sure all were o.k. We live in Florida, far away from ground zero, but it might as well have been in our backyard, it hit us that hard. God bless to all who lost someone that fateful day!

I had just got up, turned on the news and settled in with a cup of coffee when the events began to unfold.
I sat transfixed in horror throughout the 1st and 2nd tower crashes, the Pentagon attack, the crash of flight 97
and the collapse of the towers. In fact, I spent15 hours trying to get any detail I could learn.
What matters more to me, though, is the very next day I formed a 50/50 raffle and for 2 solid week, hustled every dime i could out of people and raised $2000, which i sent to the Widows and Orphans of NYC Police and Firefighters Assoc.

Driving to work and I also thought it was a accident by the tone of the radio report because they did not say it was a commericial airline plane, planes have hit the empire state bldg like military or small private planes and that is what the radio report kinda indicated but as soon as the second plane hit I knew it was terrorists what a tragic day...

I was in malaysia. Just settling before the TV and start having my lunch.. And the footage was playing... "the US... WTC... Airplane hijack...." The first few seconds i watched that clip, i couldnt make sense of it, i only could think it was a footage from an action movie.. But, when the whole thing unfolded, i was so shocked i couldnt react to it.. I weeped for the fall of humanity though i didnt have any other personal connection to it.. I saw people jumping from such height... The scene traumatised my soul for a long time.. I wrote poems on it.
May their souls rest in peace. Amen.

I woke up to the news on my radio. I live in Australia so that happened at the beginning of the day. I thought the radio hosts were just joking around then I went downstairs and turned on the TV like I always do and realised it wasn't a joke. I then had breakfast and went to school. I was only in year eight at the time.

I was still at home getting ready for work. When they showed that plane go into the tower, I said, "That is terrorists. Planes don't just fly into buildings like that." I called my co-workers to tell them to turn on the TV. Then I took my daughter to school, talked to my sister and went to work. It was a dark dark day. When it was confirmed that it was the work of terrorists, I wanted to get my family and just go home, to church, someplace where I felt safe, to pray for everyone and watch and wait. Now every single day since then, I check the headlines with trepidation and watch the news with a nasty sense of hopeless expectation that more evil has manifested itself in this crazy world.

I was sound asleep in my home back in Australia. My phone rang at 6am and it was my best friend. She asked me if I'd seen the news that morning....no, I told her in quite a grumpy tone...I was in a deep slumber!
When she told me what happened, I honestly thought she was mistaken. I turned on the television and watched with utmost horror at what had unfolded. My first thought was, OMG, if this could happen to America (the most powerful country in the world), then it could happen to anyone!! It left alot of people terribly shaken....not just the Americans.

The world never stopped turning, first of all. Life goes on. I was on my roof in Brooklyn watching all day long. From morning until night. I watched all three towers collapse... a helpless feeling I can't describe.

My ex's mom called us early that morning to tell us to turn on the news. I was in utter shock when I saw the 2nd plane hit. I went to work and followed it throughout the day, checking for names of those who passed, etc. It was a very sad day.....
