there is more to a MVP then scoring points. He made history last year with his scoring. Great for him but is not the best player ever. Maybe in your eyes but not to the mass out there.
Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, and Dirk are true MVP candidates of the NBA. They lead their team with talent and motivation. Kobe has the talent but doesn't motivate his teammates.
Get off his nuts already. Key to the city of Colorado? Yeah... lets give a key to someone who commit ADULTERY. Make him a great example for the community and the kids.
It's not the league's fault that he signed a contract with a team that cannot get talent. Everyone on Earth knew that Kwame Brown sucked, but they traded away Caron Butler for him.

My thing is if he is scoring 81 points in a single game and HIS TEAM hasn't made it to the finals, let alone the second round of the playoffs, how can he be the best in the league. Micheal Jordan had the ability to score 80 points in a single game. What made Micheal so vital to the NBA was his ability to get the whole team into the game. For Kobe to become the best in the league, he has to learn to be an all around team player. And the rape thing, I wasn't there. I don't know what happened. I don't believe in raping, but I don't know what happened.

wow some human beings could positioned off the pipe. i understand that as quickly as ur on actual, ur gonna have the main haters yet it incredibly is outrageous. somebody even stated he's not the final laker ever and stated Magic grew to become into extra perfect!? WTF?!? it incredibly is in simple terms insulting. besides, particular kobe bryant is the final to ever play the pastime. there are issues u can and can't administration and issues that would flow ur way for human beings to come across you in in simple terms the incredible mild so as that ur recorded in background favorably yet whilst looking objectively on the pastime of basketball without regard to character and rancid-courtroom issues and all the talents it demands to play the pastime, kobe bryant has consequently a great way the final mastery of the talents of the pastime than everyone has had in background. Michael is a particular 2d and is bodily extra gifted than kobe, yet kobe in simple terms has each flow MJ did and then some. he's like MJ taken to an entire new point. like buying a candy motor vehicle then suping it up!

What a rediculous question! You cannot compare Kobe's accomplishments with Michael Jordan. The championship rings, the MVPs, scoring titles, etc. MJ is a legend. Kobe is a ball hog to score 81 points. His career is already tainted after the Colorado incident. You can't make up for lost time for something wrong you've done. So thinking that Kobe is the greatest ever is rediculous!

Right now, if your going to ask the "best player", it seems irrelevant. But if your to ask the best player in a position then its not to general.
Going back to your question, yes Kobe is the best individual player today hands down. But, if you compare him to michael jordan,Dr. J, Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, or even Oscar Robertson(leaders in their own right) I can say that Kobe is not like them but far worse.
Kobe is a scorer, a showboat, a character and a champion ( 3 with shaq) but he is not a good motivator. If he is the best player ever he should make Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown, or Jordan farmar look good.
Magic during his days of "showtime" showed that he was the best and made michael cooper and Kurt Rambis look good. MJ, aside from winning 6 championships, helped Scottie Pippen be part of the 50 greatest players of all time.
81 points does not motivate team mates consequently it makes them look bad. Plus he scored it against a hapless Raptors with Nbdl type players during that season.
I'd say kobe is the best today but not ever

Your question wasn't "is Kobe a good person" or "is Kobe a criminal" so I don't understand why you even brought up the rape trial, it only hurts your argument and has nothing to do with his basketball ability.
That said, there is no way Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player ever. I think someone said already that he wasn't even the best Laker ever.
Several things make a great player, Kobe has the athleticism and work ethic but he has a poor attitude, he's cocky, and he is not a team player.
#23 will always be the best for me.

Kobe is great but not the best. That title belongs to Bill Russell, the best ever defender, 11 time champion, and a good scorer as well.

When it comes to raw skill and talent....yes, kobe is the best...better than MJ, and I know alot fo you will disagree, but I don't think even Jordan's defense could stop kobe from dropping 30-40 on him. But as an overall player, no, Kobe still lacks that leadership quality, and more of a sportsman like quality as well. We've all seen how he pouts and throws his little tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants...

I think Kobe could be one of the best but his window is closing. He could be considered the greatest offensive player of all time. No one will ever score more than 81 in the modern NBA
