For nearly 4 weeks, in blistering heat, in a building regularly visited by the local population? During the process of renovation, which involves a lot of work being done onsite? In front of the world's media, under police scrutiny? While the chaplain of the same church gives the parents his full support? It's possible but seems bizarre
when viewed rationally.

Oh, dolly. Who here knows for certain what's fact and what's fiction? The only logical assessment of my own position that I can offer is this.

I wasn't there. I do not know how much of the media reportage is true, and nor does anyone else who is not directly
involved in the case.

Hysterics will make the absurd claim that I support child neglect and am a "pro McCann", simply because I'd like to wait to see the evidence uncovered by the official investigation. These people clearly can't grasp the difference between hard fact and allegation. (I don't mean you by the way.)

I can't possibly offer a fully informed opinion on the McCanns innocence or guilt. It stuns me that anyone here claims otherwise.

Didn't know they had freezers in Churches?
Seriously, that's the only way a body could be hidden for the length of time and any blood remain if the theory about them waiting till they hired that car to dispose of the body is true.
The smell from a decomposing corpse would be very very noticable.
Personally I don't think any of the 'supposed' evidence makes sense, much less the scenarios people come up with, or the flimsy reasons they give for believing the couple guilty.
It's going to take 'hard' evidence for me to change my mind!

.....come on! You cannot believe that? Surely they would all notice the smell? No this is beyond belief - the Portugese have surpassed themselves on this one:-

They move dead body from flat three weeks after her death - err...... HELLO! How can that be? Press there, searches, etc????

Now she was taken to church and dumped there for three weeks?

The McCanns are followed everywhere - when would they get chance?

I find them highly suspicious but this lot of theories really is unbelievable.

I wonder what Gerry was doing at the church so soon after she went missing......that is a bit odd - is that true?

They really are difficult to fathom

I did read at the time Gerry went to the church shortly after Maddie went missing!

I have always thought she would be in scrub land around the area but i suppose this is plausible if there was building work's etc going on.

I know the body would be decomposing but they are in the medical profession so IF they did do it they would know how to cover up the smells and all the medical and scientific aspects of it i suppose!

yes i read this too, The McCanns were given their own key to the church so they could pray at any time on their own,the police now think they could have easily hidden the body there and then moved it later! there are lots of gravel paths and areas around the back a body could have been buried! i also heard they are going to be doing a forensic search there to see if they can find some evidence!

it's possible, anything is possible and they were there praying in private so no-one would have seen! we'll just have to wait and see!

Well, that's what I assumed the papers were saying this morning. Also that they had searched the site originally when Maddie first disappeared, because they thought she could have fallen down one of the holes. They were renovating the church at the time.
It makes sense to me, that her body could be in the works, if she is indeed dead.
What doesn't make sense to me is if they have suspected the mcCanns of killing their daughter months ago, why they have not searched it more thoroughly long ago.

I would like to know how many of these people(on this site) have studied criminology and psychology???
How many of them know that some of the serial killers had a normal life and looked innocent??

They defend two people who, in a way or another, are responsible for Madeleine's disappearance and even death.....
I don't know what to think about her body being in the church but I do believe the McCanns are guilty...

Well, until the police find the body and it's formally identified, no-one is going to know for sure, are they? Which means they'll have to search the church, right?

Strange. I was thinking the the other day however that they may have gone to confession since May 3 if they are as Catholic as they claim. There may be a priest out there that knows what happened that night to.
