I have heard from a few posters that eating ginger candy could relieve morning sickness. Does anyone know where a person can get this? Would it be available at your local Walmart or Target?

Candied ginger can be found in the ethnic isle at your local grocery. Also, Altoids (the strong mint people) have a Ginger flavor also that is pretty good.

Ginger tea also works. Buy a fresh "foot" of ginger. Skin it a few inches and either thinly slice it or grind it up. Add hot water and your choice of sweetener. It helps not only with nausea, but also with congestion.

I use either Hansen's natural ginger ale or diet Sierra Mist. However, ginger candy can also likely be found at natural food stores.

Also, vanilla soy milk works for me, too, and whole wheat crackers. I buy the Kroger grocery store equivelant of Wheat Thins. The Kroger brand has a whole wheat type. Real whole wheat, as the only flour, not enriched wheat flour with whole wheat somewhere down the list like Wheat Thins. (The Wheat Thins brand starts with enriched flour with several ingredients, including sugar, I think before the whole wheat listing.) I stock up on the Kroger brand when they go on sale for $1.

When it comes to heartburn though, I don't avoid spicy foods. Sometimes it kicks in if I'm eating somethig as mild as tofu on whole wheat with organic ketchup or a spicy black bean burger with salsa.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

When I was pregnant I discovered Preggie Pops. They are lollipops with various flavours (including ginger I think) intended to ease morning sickness and even out blood sugar highs and lows that cause nausea.

Unfortunately I discovered them as my morning sickness eased off naturally, so never tried them.

Let me know what you think!

Try sweet ginger biscuits before you get out of bed in the morning.

Blackmores (an Australian natural remedies company) do a natural travel sickness tablet that is ginger and Vitamin B that is supposed to help. It just made me vomit trying to swallow the tablet.

Those travelsickness wristbands are also supposed to be good.

You could also try acupuncture. It worked for my heartburn and carpal tunnel syndrome.
