How long is a fish's memory?

I read on Wickapedia that research shows that goldfish have a memory that spans at least 3 months. Think about it, wild fish could not survive very well if their memories were only 3 seconds.
I have personally witnessed my goldfish getting very active around feeding time, they know when its time, and remind me like puppies. They don't act the same at different times of the day. They also don't react to every one in the house hold like they do me, because I'm the one that feeds them. So they are able to some how distinguish between people as well, which seems to me that at least goldfish have a longer memory than most people realize.

These answers never cease to amaze me. Anyway, here is a video from YouTube on trained goldfish. YOU tell me how long a fish's memory is!! There has been recent documentation that fish actually do have pretty long memories. I don't have the specific site, but I'm sure you can look it up.

A fish's long-term memory lasts as long as the fish. Probably a better question would be, what can a fish remember?

In terms of mental ability, fish aren't exactly the Einsteins of the animal world.

well i once saw at the tv that one goldfish has 3 second memory.the memory of the fishes are different from species.for example the guppies recognize themselves and the dolphins are smart
