I hope you're not expecting a well organized, well thought out review, I'm just going to ramble on and tell you what I know about the Riviera
Nickel Town for low limit slots & Hound Doggies, for inexpensive fast food, I like both of these, Hound Doggies sort of reminds me of a fifties diner. They will have live music in the NT/HD area sometimes, you know, poodle skirts and 50's music...
Kady's Coffee Shop - There are a couple of restaurants, one steakhouse and one Italian but the best place to eat at the Riviera is Kady's - Oh yea, and stay away from the buffet, it's the worst in LV, and way over priced.
If you want a reasonable price buffet, especially for breakfast Palace Station is your best bet. For the money the PS breakfast buffet is the best($5.99 with a "boarding pass" players club card)
Riviera - food court - best option after Kady's - KFC, Pizza Hut, Quizno's, Chinese & Mexican.
Both the Trolley and the Deuce stop at the Riviera - The Trolley is convenient if you want to go over to the Las Vegas Hilton. The Trolley picks up near the South Lobby and will drop you right at the LVH sports book. >The Deuce is the better option for all other strip travel.
Shows - the Riviera does have good entertainment - Ice is supposed to be really good(I have not seen this one yet) The Comedy Club is really good, Crazy Girls is okay, La Cage not my thing but Frank(ie) Marino is one of the stars of LV he plays Joan Rivers and has for many-many years. If you're a Neil Diamond fan Jay White is really good. >It's close between Jay & Trent Carlini(Elvis-Sahara) as to which is the best impersonator. >I miss "Splash" that was a great show<
Gambling - They do have a few scattered quarter 9/7 DB(99.1%) & 9/6 DDB(99%) video poker machines - The best bet if you're a low limit player is to go to the LV Hilton and play their nickel 9/6 JOB(99.5%) VP in their sports book, there are 27 machines all bunched together on the North end of the sports book.
Slot club - $1 = 1 point on the slots - $2 = 1 point on VP - 300 points = $1 cash back - at least until you reach 15,000 points then CB doubles.
Comps - The Riviera is not very good about discretionary comps - If you want to play low limit table games and get comped for your play, go to Palace Station.
The Riviera has 5 towers, if you're staying in the South Tower, San Remo Tower or the Monaco Tower the views are better if you ask for a room that faces South. If you're in the North tower or the Monte Carlo Tower you're better off with a North facing room. >IMO the South towers have a better view.
As long as you're not expecting your room to look like a suite at the Venetian or Bellagio, and are happy with a clean place to sleep you should not be disappointed. The Riviera does show her age though. I was in LV(6/4 - 7/5 - 31 nights) and did drop in a couple of times - What can I say, I like the chili dogs at Hound Doggies.
Hope this helps a little, and have a great trip.

Well, it's one of the oldest bigger hotels still left on the strip -- it was built in 1955, so it's got a little of that Brat Pack charm, rather than being one of these glitzy brand new constructions; you might find that cool or you might not. Keep in mind that it's a little further out from all the action (it's on the Northern end of the strip) -- but again, you might like that. From all I've heard, it's fairly decent value for money, but don't go expecting it to the be the Wynn or anything (and nor would you!)
Not sure if you've checked out IgoUgo.com, but they have three very honest reviews of the Riviera, and some candid pictures as well (taken by people who've stayed there); the link is here: http://www.igougo.com/travelcontent/journalEntryLodging.aspx?businessCardID=165346
If you don't feel like heading over there, though, I'll summarize it for you here -- it seems to get a solid three-star rating (out of five stars) and it's described as "clean," "spacious," and "comfortable" but slightly "dated" with "old bathroom amenities."
Basically, it seems that if you're just looking for a clean budget-friendly place to rest your head, you'll do well with the Riviera Hotel. I'd say you've made a wise choice.
Hope that helps!

The Riviera is nice but I couldn't say it's the nicest. Out of all the "cheap" hotels in Vegas the Monte Carlo was always my favorite because of the pool. & if I were you I'd spend more time in other hotels except when you're sleeping of course aha. So try to check out other pools. If you go in the day when it's busy the people usually don't notice if you sneak in. I always did that. I just snuck into random pools in the summer & I never got caught. Also at the riviera you can expect just normal hotel service. The people that work in casinos there are usually very nice. I never met a rude person who worked in any hotel. & also you're very lucky to visit vegas ;o I want to go back home lol. Have fun !!!

It has some great old Vegas style shows... A good time indeed but if you are looking for a 4 star style hotel and casino it is not the Riviera. Its is need of a makeover, but it is very inexpensive and worth the money that you pay for it. Heck your not going to be in your room much anyway so who cares! Have a great time in town its a time you will never forget!

You're possibly in the exact same vessel as the great majority of sports gamblers up and down the united states who are dropping a lot more than they ever win. You might have the casual get that maintains you coming back for more, but all the time your choices lose. And that fees you actually more income! If you wish to put the conclusion at this problem then you should search here https://tr.im/L9zEF .
With Zcodes you are certain to get the machine guidelines so that you can get the bets and more.
Zcodes System also includes a really active neighborhood that also weighs in and gives there two cents about each game. Maybe there's a key damage Zcodes doesn't know about. Number concerns, the community people enables you to know before you set your investment down.

I stayed there in January. My husband and I took advantage of one of those time share things that gave us a free room. If that's what you are doing, I feel sorry for you. The room they put us in was terrible. There wasn't even a bedspread on the bed. I was extremely disappointed. The Comedy Club show was good. It is at the top of the strip, so it is a long walk from most of the casinos you are going to want to tour. Get a 24 hour bus pass and use it, unless you are into marathon walking! Have fun!

You get what you pay for. It is one of the if not the cheapest place to stay on the strip. A bit out of the main stream of the rest of the strip but not real bad. Building up all around so in a few years it may be a better location. Just enjoy it. It does offer some entertainment values. I would not recommend walking at night there. The crowds are sparse at that point of the strip. During the day not so bad. Have fun.

I havent' stayed there, will in October. I've heard both good and bad. It is an older property so it will show it's age.
I believe it's a fair value for what the room costs. Besides I'm in the room so little that all I care about is that it's clean.
Have fun!

I've stayed there several times. Some rooms are in need of renovations badly. Other rooms are better. All in all, the hotel needs renovation, but it does offer a cheap place to stay.
