I'm not sure how this will effect the Tigers. Bonderman was so bad recently but he is very talented. No one knows how Jairjjens(sp)will pitch after coming back. He could return to form, or he could be less than adequate. The division is a long shot(If the Indians go 9-9 for the rest of the year the Tigers will have to go 15-3 to tie and 16-2 to win)but the chances of them winning the wild card are very good. The Yankees are bound to cool down at some point and the Mariners have virtually fallen out of the race. I hope the Tigers win the wild card , I'm sick of the Yankees.

Honestly, I think this would be a great move to make. It causes Bonderman to work on his mechanics without having to think about when his next start is. Whatever he was doing now and recently has not been working so the Tigers figured, "Let's go to Plan B." He's a young arm, which is good, b/c he still has time to develop and will be easy to work with. He had electric stuff last year so I would not be worried about him. This move is more geared for the Tigers' future even though he has been doing pretty poorly recently. Also, I think that all of Tiger Nation can kiss their playoff hopes goodbye for this year -- It seems the Yankees finally found some incentive to start playing well and have been playing insanely. I believe they have the Wild Card all wrapped up with the Seattle Mariners drowning out at sea. Look for a monster, break out season from Bonderman next year Georgie!

Well, This might end up being a good thing. Bondo hasn't been doing real well since the All-Star break. Perhaps has arm got tired from throwing all those innings last year and that's what got him. Hopefully, and especially with Jurrjans back, the Tigers should start getting back into the groove (not saying that Bonderman was the problem) and get a playoff spot.

At this point Bonderman was more of a hindreance than a help in the rotation, he started the year off great and then tried to pitch through this injury...the last outing was the final straw for him I think, he has nothing left in his arm and was hurting the team by taking the ball.
I think this will actually help them for the playoff push, they can get a fresh arm in there to hopefully push them into the playoffs!

Bonderman hasn't been a real factor except for one game in a very long time. He needs to heal and get ready for next year. What the heck is "pinched cartilage" anyway?

Detroit will not be making the playoffs this year so it really doesn't matter.
Bonderman will have plenty of time to heel in the off season.
Good luck next year Tiger fans.

As long as you have a great replacement your team will be fine,,HELL look how many pitchers we went through since April, and we're 1st in the wild card now! Torre used a slew of different pitchers since April!! I lost count of them,,Hell i don't even know all their names! You gotta get Shef back,,and the rest of the team HAS TO STAY HEALTHY!! This is no time for players to be going on the DL!!

Truthfully Bondo has NOT been effective much after the All Star break so personally I don't see where it can hurt us. If he's injured...playing and giving up tators it's only hurting the team in the long run. I hope the Rook shines....we certainly need it to stay in the race! GO TIGERS!!

bondo is a tough loss, even though he's been struggling lately, it's still nice to have a solid pitcher in the rotation. every pitcher is gonna have rough times, but injuries are the worse. hopefully he heals up and wins 20 next year.
