Why do conservatives and republicans think the USA has been such a great failure?

what I mean is they clearly have had an agenda to change the USA drastically for some years now.....and if you listen to them our judges have been awful, our trade policies of the past were awful, balance budgets were awful, balance trading was awful, jobs here for americans was awful, government investing in our infrastructure was awful, food inspections was awful, import inspections was awful, our avoidance of war was awful, social security was awful,

see what I mean? I mean if you listen to conservatives, its like the USA was a failed state and they have been for the last decade trying to save it. But look at where conservative thinking and republican policies have taken us....

It did fail the billionaires after FDR and Teddy made them give back some of the money they stole. But ultimately Outcrop had it right they really do hate Freedom.

When the Government underwrites Individual freedom by restricting the ways that Businesses can take that freedom away, or take the wealth of the commons and pass off on to society the costs of that wealth, then the people are less fearful to try out that freedom, often in ways that are scary to those already broken by abuse or neglect who fear a loss of control.

As a major part of their plan to make the country over in their Image they created an Abusive father view of society, that only those without power are accountable to the needs and demands of the Father figure, and the father figure is not to be accountable to the people he is in charge of. Such abuse also breaks the ability to empathize with others, also a GOP ideal, hence the "bleeding heart" disparagements.

By contrast in the Nurturing parent (disparaged as Nanny) mode, both parents hold each other accountable and both work to nurture the children to the most they can be and empathetic to helping others be the most they can be as well.

as a conservative I disagree with ur statement wholehearted -- (1) judges cannot get past the lilberal in congress, (2) trade polices are set by congress (liberal), (3) balance budgets are prime conservative wants, (4) jobs are at a all time high, (5) infrastricture redo is an ongoing (make work) thing (not the federal governments fault that bridges fall down -- state inspection teams do that and states make the decision on what is to be repaired) (6) food inspection -- how many people do u know that have gotten sick from bad food?? sure it happens -- but the firms recall the stuff don't they -- they do not wanna be sued so they stand on their own, (7) if the imports are bad why do we buy the crap from China -- have u stopped buying their junk (8) social security -- not supposed to be a single thing -- take responsibility for urself and put some money away for old age -- why should the government take care of u ???

I also hear that when we need universal health care and we get, "The government can't run anything now". Well the government used to run things fairly well. We fought in two world wars, and won, we rebuilt Europe with the Marshall Plan, we were respected and even a bit feared and envied.
I think ever since Reagan, when we began having a government that said one thing to us, and ran another shadow government in foreign policy that we didn't hear about, that was when we began our decline. We no longer trust our ability, the last six years have played hell with our trust in government, a rubber stamp congress abdicating its oversight role, a political judicial department, and an incompetent executive branch have all combined to leave us without resources. The only ones happy are the businesses who have found their restrictions lifted and unparalleled access to actually writing their own rules, with Exxon posting huge gains, and insurance companies rejoicing with the pharmaceuticals, with Enrons and pensions getting raided, with unions losing out to illegal immigrants, with tax cuts for the rich, and outrageous interest rates and sucker loans for the financially unsophisticated, those are the beneficiaries, that's where conservative thinking and republican policies have taken us, its no wonder people have woken up and have said its time for a change.

Conservatives are those headstrong people from the south that have their heads stuck in a hole and have no idea what they're talking about because they don't think. Unfortunatly many of our political figures come from the South.

Liberals use their brains, and think of all sides to a situation, therefore making better decisions and judgement. I wish more politicians were from the Northern USA where we are just plain smarter!

BTW: Everything is much worse since we had a Republican President. Life was good for me and most people when Clinton was President.

Because the left has backed us into a corner with Civil Rights.

The Left used the Civil Rights reforms (necessary to redress slavery, no question) to FORCE societal acceptance onto Americans of things that America SHOULD NOT ACCEPT.

When did our Doctors become KILLERS?

When did marriage look less desirable to MEN than owning and caring for a DOG?

Think, Americans. No one is saying we should go back to the farm and re-enslave women. Or Black Americans. Or Native Americans.
