Your period may not be regular the first few times you get it, the thumping is most likely either gas popping inside your intestines or it is getting ready to release your period.
Gas can often block a menstrual period, once released the period will flow. I would suggest you take some rolaids or tums, and possibly a bayer or aspirin of some sort. This will help thin your blood and the tums will dissolve the gas, clearing the way for the cycle to begin it's process.

Hello, for someone of your age missing a period is very normal. Many women have irregular periods all their lives, for example I have irregular periods and I have only just finished a period in 9 months of not having one. There is no need to panick when it comes to periods they are a simple fact to life in which we need to have children but as you said you are a virgin so you do not have to worry about being pregnant.
The thumping you can feel underneath your ribs is your heart beat. What you are feeling is the blood rushing to your lungs and around your vital organs each time your heart beats, this is normal too.

Since you have just recently started your periods, it can take a year or more for them to become regulated, so relax. Focus on symptoms you may have and be prepared for your next period.
The thumping you feel is more than likely your abdominal aorta, this is connected to the descending aorta in your heart that pumps blood throughout your system, the thumping is the blood pumping.

Don't be afraid, honey. Everything is fine. You are just beginning to feel the effects of the hormones that will be causing all kinds of issues with your body as you gradually change from girl to woman. You are feeling anxiety because you don't fully understand the physical changes but what makes it worse is that the hormones also affect your brain causing heighten emotional responses.
All you can really do is go along for the ride. It will be challenging but you will be fine. You are not in any kind of danger. Just try not to obsess about it, OK?

your periods are gonna be all over the place because of 'hormones' yadda yadda. they get more stable when your older. (i.e teenagers get acne because of this reason, and it usually decreases as they get older)
the thumping isn't a baby, you know?
