You need to figure out what you want to sell first. Decide if you want to buy inventory, ect. Ebay is a tough business, because there are a lot of people out there trying to make money on it, and the people buying don't want to pay retail price, because they have to pay for shipping.
Ebay is great, but you have to believe in what you are selling and expect to take some initial cost to start up. If you are looking for a way to make extra money have you heard of My Power Mall? It is FREE, and very easy to use. It is a real home business that you can do alongside with whatever else you are doing, andit is FREE.
You can also make money, or save money when purchasing stuff to sell on Ebay at your own discount FREE power mall. Actually, now that I think about it that would be a great idea.
You can click on my profile the website is there :)

If you are serious about selling at eBay you can visit my site www.MultiProfitsOnline.com. I have an information product: "Insider Secrets to Selling on eBay". Derek Gehl of Internet Marketing Center, has convinced his elite team of eBay PowerSellers to let him put their proven success system down on paper, so ANYONE can use it to achieve life-changing income on eBay.
Because Derek is so certain that you're going to achieve incredible success with this system, he's willing to let you test-drive it absolutely risk free for a full 30 days -- for less than a buck! If his system doesn't work for you, you can return the product and owe nothing. The Internet Marketing Center is well-known in helping people how they can start their business.
And I have another eBay information product: "Misspellings Make Money." Misspelled items don't normally appear in eBay searches. So very few people find them, therefore very few bidders bid on these items. Most of the time these misspelled items ended unsold. You can bid on these misspelled items and relisted them with the right spelling.
Finding the misspelled items can be time consuming. You can try the free eBay Misspelling Tool at http://www.HotDealFinder.net. Click on the eBay Misspelling Tool link. You can try to type in: Diamond; Play Station; Tommy Hillfiger (I'm not sure if this is the right spelling of this particular item) :).
Since the holidays are coming, now it's the best time to get started for eBay business.
I hope my input is helpful.
If you have time you can visit my site for more information about these 2 great products for eBay business.

You have to start small - become a seller. You need to have a certain amount of positive ratings in order to open a store. So you need to rack on those ratings by setting up a seller profile. Make sure you use all the attractive page display options in order to make sure your listing appears at the head of searches. Research on the selling prices of the items you will be posting - on ebay and also on other websites such as amazon.com in order to price your items competitively.
