Do cats have tunnel vision?

Like where they can only see what's ahead of them with razorsharp vision? The reason I'm asking this is because I threw something to my cat and he only looked infront of him when the toy was right to the left of him. I highly doubt my cat is stupid.....

I think they tend to concentrate on a focal point. My cat seems to have very good peripheral vision.
