I was at work.....no one worked well that day...we all had radios on and talking every chance we could about what happened. I was trying to get a hold of my boyfriend.....at the time he was in the Airforce and was in DC for a conference. I wasn't sure if he was at the Pentagon or not...but I was worried. Luckily, at that time he wasn't and he later called me around 1 - 2 that afternoon. When I got home...I had the news on all night until midnight.....I couldn't believe what had happened...I cried a lot for the people involved and their families. Such a terrible day that was.

I was at work during the attacks. I was in the Army getting ready to get off shift. My 12 hour shift instantly turned to a 16 hour shift followed by 3 hours of sleep and then an 18 hour shift.

I walked into the office, and my boss walked up to me with his handheld TV in hand. "LOOK AT THIS!" I couldn't believe my eyes, then suddenly the 2nd plane hit. My heart sank, I felt as if I were watching a movie. Couldn't be real!!??!! Later that afternoon, I went to chapel and prayed for the lost ones, and their families. This is day that I will never forget.
Thank God we have heroes here at home to help in time of need.
My hat is off the our armed forces, local fireman, and police.

I was in the living room, had just turned on the TV. When I went to a news channel, I doubted that what I was seeing could be real--it was inconceivable! I doubted my sanity for a few seconds. Then I said "Oh, no!" in such a tone that it brought others into the room. It's unforgettable.

I was sitting watching the Today show when it all happened and called my sister. My hubby was in NC and I was in MA waiting for him to get settled in a new job before we moved down to join him. After I saw what happened I packed up the family and moved down to be with him within 2 weeks. It really stuck with me how short life is and how quickly it can be taken away.

I was in 6th grade, in science class. Everybody was being taken out of school by their parents for some reason, and no one knew why. And then I heard my teacher talking to another teacher outside the classroom saying "but they wouldn't bomb us here would they? They wouldn't attack us here?" Then I knew something was wrong. She then came in and told us what was going on and turned on the middle school news channel for us.
It was so sad and scary, even for an 11 year old :(

I was at work at a lawfirm and one of our clients came in and told us a plane hit the trade center. We only had one crappy radio in the office but we just stood around listening to the events as they unfolded. It was the scarriest thing ever.

I was going crazy trying to locate my father who was supposed to working in one of the towers. I did not realize at the time that all the cell towers were down/blocked. I went crazy fro hours trying to locate him. Luckily for some strange reason, he was called to another job as an emergency at 6am. THANK GOD! On another note though, I lost my uncle on the 1st plane.... Horrible day all together..

I was eating breakfast in a resturant when I first heard the news, and when I got home, I turned on CNN, and watched the news all day. It was so hard to believe that it happened to us.
