None of the detergents are the best for removing urine odors you will have to use one cup of White Vinegar to remove the urine odors in the hottest water your childs clothes can handle full cycle, do not add any detergent to this remedy or no fabric softner as vinegar softens your clothes as effectively as fabric softner without the perfumes it also removes odors and stains, in fact vinegar is an all purpose cleaner/degreaser and can be used on laundry to remove residues left by detergents it also removes static cling and removes the lint from clothes leaving your dryer with less lint to clean up when this method is finished you may if you choose to wash your clothes in a normal cycle with detergent but it is not necessary as it will hinder the vinegars effects, like for instance softening it is also safe for your childs clothes and your child does not cause allergies you can also add this to your rinse cycle the next time you wash your clothes to leave the clothes clean and fresh and residue free if you choose this the next time you wash your clothes just add half cup to the the rinse cycle or add to the fabric softner dispenser in your machine. When the washing is done you can either dry in the dryer without dryer sheets added or line dried, if line dried hang away from direct sunlight as vinegar whitens if left in the sunshine Good Luck !

I guess I agree with the first 3 answers. I love Gain regular sent powder detergent. I like Tide powder, too. I avoid all detergents with ANY scent added. Liquid detergent doesn't seem to go as far, and can actually ruin some fibers in clothing because liquids have a residue that make the intgredients bind and not separate in the bottle. I think if you use hot water, that will help, although with the price of gas, I'm doing a lot of cold water washes and dissolving the Gain in a cup of hot water and then adding it to the machine. Lots of wash with a 2 year old at home and my working medical, I need clean clothes every day. My daughter works in a sea food restaurant, and comes home smelling like a sun baked ocean every night. Gain does the job. It's a little less costly than Tide, but it also keeps your clothes bright, where if you go with cheap detergents, your clothes will get a dingy, grayish-yellowish hew after a few months.

Use whatever detergent gets out the "dirt", don't overload the washer, and give it an extra rinse with a cup of white vinegar. The odor from the vinegar goes away when it is dry.

There is a product that might help as a pre-soak called Oda-ban. I get it at Sam,s Club. It works on ALL odors, anywhere. I've had pets and children (the most odor producing group known to man) with great success.

My favorite is Gain. I might suggest using a cup of white vinegar in your final rinse to remove the odors.:)
