My partner and I are trying to concieve as well. We have only been trying for a couple of months so far, but I have been looking on the web, and it seems that between 10 months and a year is the average! I had no idea. It means that it is perfectly normal though so try not to worry. Worrying about it just makes it worse.
The only tips I have come accross are just relaxing, and making sure your timing is right.
If you google 'fertility calculator', it will show you some good websites where you put the date of your last period in, and it calculates when you will be at your most fertile. There is actually about a six day 'peak period' apparently, so you may have a tiring week!
Good Luck! x

There are two types of vitamin A. The first type comes from animal foods such as meat, fish and dairy foods and is known as retinol. The other type of vitamin A comes from plant foods such as carrots and green vegetables and is known as carotene. Excessive intakes of the retinol form of vitamin A may harm your baby. For this reason, it is recommended that you avoid taking vitamin or fish liver oil supplements that contain more than the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA), i.e. more than 750mcg/day of retinol. Many fish oil supplements are made from the body of the fish rather than the liver and are considered quite safe because they do not contain excessive amounts of retinol. They also supply omega 3 essential fatty acids which have been linked to a reduction in the risk of prematurity and improved brain and eye development in your baby.
It is important to remember though that you should limit high intakes of all vitamins in pregnancy and not just the vitamins that are stored in your body. If you choose to take a supplement, aim for a multivitamin designed for pregnancy that supplies around 100% of the RDA. Vitamin supplements may be useful for topping up your intake but remember that they cannot replace all the nutrients supplied by having a good diet.
It is recommended, however, that you take a daily 400 microgram (mcg) supplement of folic acid in addition to any folates that you eat as part of your normal diet. This will help prevent your baby developing neural tube defects (NTD), if you take it while you are trying to conceive and continue to take it for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

You should be taking folic acid and eating and drinking heathly (stop smoking, drinking alcohol and doing drugs - if you do any of that). Although it feels like it, ten months really isn't that long (believe me, I've been trying for over four and a half years). I would say don't waste time, go to your Drs - both of you and get tested. It's best to know what's going on and get advice from your Dr. Good luck.

I'm having the same delima right now lol. I got ovulation test strips. They aren't expensive and you can get them at your local drug store. I also have a basil thermometer. You can find everything about TTC on www.webmd.com. It's a good site to go to. Also, less is more. Say your best day of conception is the 14th have sex the 12th 14th and the16th. Sperm can live in your body up to 48 hours. This was advice from my GYN. Good luck honey. Wish me luck too!!

Maybe it's time to get to the doc's and both get checked out, just to make sure there's no physical problems. My sis had the same problem, and after 2 years of trying, found out she had a medical reason for not being able to get pregnant. Luckily, against all odds, 4 years later she has amazingly got pregnant, even when the doctors said it couldn't happen, so there's always hope - but you need the facts.

I was in the same boat as you and I started to take a vitamin B complex as well as Agnus Castus capsules. It may have been a coincidence, but I was pregnant 3 months later.
Relaxing and just enjoying your relationship is also recommended, as pregnancy has a habit of sneaking up on you when you least expect it.

Really 10 months is not that long. Especially if you guys are worried or upset. Just relax and enjoy trying. You might want to make a doctors appt. to rule or any medical problems. Good luck!

http://www.babycentre.co.uk very good site with hints and tips. GPs will usually start testing if you have been ttc for 12 months or more, so could be worth going to have chat. Above all relax, enjoy yourself and try not to think about it and hopefully you will fall soon.
Good luck xx
