Ive got a small porch on the front of my house that i want to give to climbing plants. hopefully with as much colour and scent as possible for as long as possible. i was thinking of mixing clemetis and roses. is this possible and what variety should i be looking at, i dont mind if they spread to the front of the house aswell in actual fact it would be great. can anyone point me in the right direction plz. the front of the house is quite open and catches the sun for the most of the day (from about 11 clock onwards).

You can't beat honeysuckle for perfume, Clematis for flowers both go together and are of easy culture, by selecting the right Clematis (check when buying ) you can have them in bloom almost all year round. Both will spread right around the house, roses are fine but need more attention than the other two.

Morning glories are my pick. They multiply like crazy. To the point of almost invasive. Although they have no scent, they are beautiful. And mine come back every summer. They are still going strong with bloom. Good Luck.
