No. I don't believe it. I am a very fast reader. However, it takes me about 10-12 hours to read an average novel. And that's reading to understand the book and remember it. Can't understand why someone would want to read something they don't retain or comprehend when they're finished. The only way someone could read 8 books a week is if they don't do anything else like hold down a job, do housework, sleep, hang out on Answers, etc.

Oh, thats very possible. Take into account some very good books are only 150 pages or so; Some are light reading, some heavy. I can read a light fiction or informal social peice in a sitting. However, 8 books a week every week would certainly get tedious.

Entierly possible, however.

My older daughter usually averages about that. I rarely see her without a book in her hand. So while it would be unusual, it is possible. I have read a book in a single day. (Did with Deadly Hallows). So it is possible....

who cares,different people have different abilities and the length and content of the book is key. besides to read isn't to understand what you've read.

Yes. I read that or more and so do many of my friends and colleagues. 'Course, reading fast is one thing, retaining or understanding is another.
