Go to The Woodlands Market street pubs (warning about Baker street pub smoking is allowed and it is thick smoke I prefer the smoke free Goose), or Fox and Hound on Research and 45. Lots of fun people at both places. I met my husband 4 years ago at Fox and Hound when I had just moved here. At that time there was no Market Street.
Don't be shy and just walk up to people and tell them you just moved here. They will love to be your friend and tell you about all the great things that Houston has to do.

You might have to come a little furthur south to The Wodlands area. There are a couple of pubs over by the Woodlands Mall/ Market Street area. They are Baker St. Pub and Goose's Acre. There is also a place on the north bound feeder of 45, just south of Robinson Rd called The Blvd. It's really nice and they have an outdoor patio. Also, close by The Blvd, is Sam's Boat. It is more of a restaurant but also a good place to go if you are looking to drink.

there are normal people in Conroe...but they have to go to sleep very early,because they have to get up early to join the never ending rat race to houston the next morning. Most people in Conroe hang out in the woodlands, minute maid park area,etc..don't know where Huntsville people,,mostly college age...

a lot of people that live closer to conroe go to the woodlands area for things to do. if you are closer to huntsville it is a college town and there are many places to go up there try both areas and see what you like the best
