Has anyone heard about the rumor of the death of The Cascades back in the 60's?

It was only until recently when The Cascades were going to make a live performance here in Manila that I discovered that they were still alive. My mom heard of a rumor back in the 60's that they died in a plane crash. I just want to verify if this was a widespread rumor since I couldn't find it elsewhere on the Internet.

im not sure where it came from but i have a friend who played bass with the cascades at a concert in cincinnati a few months back..its just that...a rumor.

i heard of that too. but its obviously just a rumor because they are very much alive and have done a series of concerts here in the philippines
