I like Christopher Reeves, even though it didn't have half of the special effects. Do you think the new superman is as good?

Christopher Reeve was just the perfect Superman, and Richard Donner's original film captured the story of his origin and growing up and first battle with Lex Luthor perfectly.
Bryan Singer did a decent job of bringing Superman back to the big screen, but his film still doesn't hold up as well as Donner's did. Brandon Routh, although a decent enough actor, wasn't bulky enough to play or look like Superman. But, I will give the film this: it's still a better film than Superman III or IV.

The first one set the standard for comic book movies. It nailed every aspect of Superman! I personally believe that his origin story is the best one of all superhero films as it is portrayed so respectully, and Marlon Brando giving one of his greatest performances ever. John Williams' score also added grandeur to the larger-than-life character. Christopher Reeve IS Superman.
After thinking about it, I've decided that Superman Returns wasn't that great and I don't plan on ever seeing it again. It didn't feel right. And I didn't like how it kept making references (and sometimes stealing lines) from the first Superman movie. Those things acted as crutches to this movie, as if it couldn't stand on its own without them.

Nope . There is nothing like the original character being portrayed by the oringinal actor. Christopher reeves is always going to be the best Super Man

previous ones are greater powerful, in concrete the 1st 2 ones. Singer's new version improve into too cheesy and having a character like Superman those days with all that technologies takes greater suitable than the Spacey-copycat-Hackman Luthor!

I agree about Dean Cain. He was more physically looking than whats his face. But I LOVED Kevin Spacey for Lex Luther (that is why I watched it!)
That chick that played Lois Lane BOMBED (bad.) I don't care if she had a child, she lost way too much of her edge. My favorite scene of Margot Kidder was her chain smoking, squeezing fresh orange juice touting about the health benefits. Then cramming a greasy cheeseburger down her throat. PRICELESS! The new one is just mousy.

No way, dude... the old superman was really good fot that time... bu the new one isn't as interesting as the old one...especially the second half sucks... Thumbs Up to the old one..
