PHILCHN: You bring up some good points. The radical Islamacists for years ignored the west and aimed at the secular governments of Islamic countries. However, their "Jihad" failed miserably. Those that started attacking the what was believed too strong west were considered heretics by the old style organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood. However, the attacks on the USA were answered with wet noodles until the Al-Queda attack of 9-11-01 so the thinking has radically changed. Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and Turkey have always had their problems with the Islamrads and now the Theocracy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a potential target because the USA was allowed to base military units there to help protect them from Iraq and Iran. In the 1980s/1990s, even the agreements of the Saudis to allow US units at certain places under certain conditions (say a Soviet attack) was Top Secret due to their fear of adverse reaction of their peoples.

Although its hyphoethical, I cannot blame you to ask this question because especially in Pakistan, they turn on burning christian churches in revenge against minority christians.
It is a fact that although the US have handful muslim allies in the Middle East, we cannot call them to be reliable. Eversince 9/11, Muslim and Arab leaders and governments are very hesitant to condemn terrorism, If not afraid of backlash by extremists, maybe the feeling of support is there?
