Don´t you think that in the searing heat of a Portuguese summer the body would have got just a tad decomposed, then if they had put it in the boot there would be a damned sight more than "minute specks" of any type of DNA evidence. But, wait a minute, they must have got permission to put it in the priests freezer. Mystery solved. Get real you people, how the hell could they have kept a body somewhere then moved it 25 days later.
They are guilty only of an error of judgement, nothing more.
DNA in the boot was probably transferred there by any number of means. The crime scene was never kept as "sterile". If every single item that Madeleine had used or touched right up to her disappearance had been seized and sealed at the moment the crime was discovered then the DNA would be useful. One of the other kids used Maddie's toothbrush or hairbrush after she had gone missing would be the most rational explanation. How the hell did they get a sample of Maddie's DNA to match against what they found. It´s probably the DNA match of one of the other children who used her stuff after she vanished.

and don't you think that a body that has been there for 5 weeks would emit a smell? Not just a slight whiff but a strong stench.
How in gods name would the congregation not of noticed it and the priest?

I dont think so, even a priest is a human being, if i'm crying and carrying my dead daughter and begging the priest to hide it for me do you think they would help me? If i'm the priest i'd kill McCann myself with the bible if they cried and carried maddie and asked for me to hide the body.

i read on another forum quite abit about 'reverse speech' and someone played an interview with gerry and with reverse speech one of the things said was 'the body is in the crypt'.
i'm not saying this is true or 100% correct...just thought i'd share this little info.

The priest would not assist murderers.
He supports them 100% and so do I.

Yes Kamran, hit the nail on the head. Although it is possible they did put here there, I don't think they ever searched the church or questioned the priest (something to do with consecrated grounds or something)

If they were so convinced the McCanns did it, why didn't the police search it more thoroughly? It has been searched, they were doing renovations, but you would think it would have been torn to pieces in the search for her body. Or used cadaver dogs.

The Church has never ever claimed to be the law in itself.
The Church is always on the side of the Law.
The seal of the Confessional is not beyond the Law.
