You don't have to be. There are plenty of conservatives who understand the reality of global warming. Some famous ones are Newt Gingrich, John McCain, and ironically, President Bush.

It's true that most global warming deniers are conservative, as are the loudest ones (i.e. Rush Limbaugh), and many people have tried to turn this scientific issue into a political one. Because of this, it's becoming one of the usual polarized 'us vs. them' conservative vs. liberal issues in the USA.

I while back I conducted a poll here, and every single person who did not believe humans are the primary cause of the current global warming were right-leaning to conservative. Those who believed humans are the primary cause ranged from moderate to one socialist, mainly liberals.

That's why it's considered left-wing to believe the reality of global warming, but it shouldn't be. It's more accurate to say that denying global warming is a right-wing belief.

People who like rap music have no particular political affilliation. People who 'believe in global warming' are simply educated, informed and do not have their belief system driven by their politics. Please remember, that the Pentagon issued a report that said global warming is the greatest threat to western civilization in history. Is The Pentagon 'left wing'? Not so much.

Well lets see, so far a chunk of ice the size of Florida melted, the Polar bears are going on the endangered species list as the Ice caps are melting and that is the only place they can survive.!

Do you think the neocons will believe it when Florida is under water?

They believe it is left wing as everything that stops business profits, or affects them is left-wing. If you left it up to them there would be 100 Love canals in every state! People would be dieing of cancer and they knew who the polluters were, just dumping poison into our aquifers!

The earth changes. It was only a few days ago that some scientists spent millions to find out men prefer pretty women. It was only a week or two before that that we found out the placement of temperature gages that were used for global warming research were inaccurate because of placement.
We can not even predict a hurricane a year in advance yet you want we should believe that these scientists are totally correct (false information and all) and we are causing our planet to heat , that dire consequences will follow and raising taxes will help.
Left wing is not the term I would use.

It doesn't. A great many people accept the reality of global warming and it's most likely cause being human behavior. They come from all walks of life and all political persuasions. Even Dubya is on board now and climate change was a major topic at the APEC summit.

I don't think it's global warming that some don't believe in, it's whether it's caused by humans or not that's debatable.
IMO it's hard to believe that global warming is caused by people when it is also happening on other planets.

It's a silly assumption. You don't have to be on any side of the political fence to understand Global Warming is real.

Hey I'm Conservative and I believe in global warming!
However I don't believe it is caused by man, I think good old mother earth is doing her on work just like she has for millions of years.
But be sure and eat up everything old Al is feeding you just don't pay attention to the fact that he is in it for the money, like it or not it's all about the money. You have it and they want to get it from you

we all believe in global warming and cooling! Most of the United states was covered by a Glacier Not too long ago in geo terms and the Ocean covered it to at one time. The difference comes as to what extent Humans effect it and what we should do to curtail it. I say let the market make good and lasting changes. Liberals run around saying let's stop factories and cars and growing food and it becomes as radical as eliminate all human life.....
