Bush is playing for time for two main reasons....

1. The Oil contracts have not been divid up and signed......

2. He doesn't want to leave office with the certainty of defeat around his failed neck..

The Press hasn't told anyone that the reason for Moveon's sarcastic "Betrayus" insult was because Petraus wasn't writing the the Petraus report. Bush was.

Therefore Petraus "Betrayed US" by misleading the country that he Petraus report was by him, not Bush.

This was admitted by the White House about two weeks ago.

I'm with you, though I like Patreaus a hell of a lot more than I like Bush!

And there was something in today's paper read by a committee member about the oil contracts! This is over oil. That has never been a secret!

I think that you are on the right track, but not dead on. Petreaus' report wasn't given to him or vetted by the White House. That said, of course he was prepped by W's lackeys. But the bottom line was that he used false numbers that were falsely tabulated that were cherry-picked (compare them to the UN numbers, the Jones Report, the GAO Report and the ones in the last three NDEs) and compared only to a small fraction of the time that we have been occupying Iraq. And with these skewed numbers, he was reporting on his own work. How often has a General EVER reported to Congress that his efforts were failing? Never.

"Why do people blame 'Betrayus', he only read the report given to him by the Bush administration?"

You answer your own question with the fallacious statement embedded within it. It's sad that people will actually believe that Bush wrote this report without any evidence of this whatsoever, simply because of the 6 year ongoing media onslaught to keep our great nation politically divided. "Bush Bashers" are so entrenched in their unfounded hatred of our President that even though Osama Bin Laden himself says he agrees with U.S. Democrat Party leadership, they still choose to follow and believe the story line set forth by these traitors.

He has stated that the report was compiled and written by him, cleared by no one and no department.

Agree or disagree with his assessment (and most Iraqis disagree), I have no reason to doubt his integrity, and mere cynicism isn't enough to convince me otherwise.

As to our Idiot King, 5-D Cheney, Rummy, Tenet, Wolfowitz, Pearl, Condi, Libby and the rest of the gang, I do believe they should be imprisoned for their incompetence.

Speaking of Osama and his swine buddy Al-Zawiri, why are they still sipping tea in North Waziristan? Why are these swine anuses still breathing??

I do feel sorry for Gen Petraeus, he probably meant to give an honest assessment, but then the great leader just happened to visit him in person days before the big moment, which disintegrated any hope of credibility to his assessment.

Anyone who would twist the General's name like that is an idiot and a scoundrel. Funny thing is that he was unanimously confirmed for that job by the Republicans and Democrats, and now that the truth is coming out the traitors on the left want to kill the messenger. This is why the Democrats are doomed to always be second rate.

The report the General read was written by himself. What he wrote is what he thinks and believes.

Blatantly obvious.

Why is it again that we're not impeaching him and Cheney?
