Other than say a couple of things to some dizzy emotional little girl, and call gay Brian a shirt lifter (oooh, how hurtful), how exactly did he offend you?

Bluebell - where is the sexism in this question?!! As for Brian he is a Man and should act like one, not blubbing over a daft remark like a child.

Scotty, you must be so proud of Brian mincing around like that. I mean he is doing so much to break down the gay male stereotype image you are striving so hard to get rid of....

jim is so funny! i'm sad he left i wanted him to win, hope brian doesn't win now, jim says what he thinks , good for him!

he didn't offend me but i can see why he did offend some people.
Jim Davidson is an old timer who needs to realise not everyone shares his beliefs which is fine. Everyone to have diffrent opinions and all that, but to say he is a "shirt lifter" is just a bit pathetic, if Jim Davidson didn't like Brian, then fair enough but he should not catagorise him just because he is gay. That is a weak mans argument! Shows Jim to be a man who has no real reason to dislike someone apart from he is gay. That speaks loads about him as a person. If Brian was not openly gay then would Jim still have same opinion on him if Jim was unaware of Brians sexuality?!

Shirt lifter IS a hurtful and derogatory comment, it offended me to see a grown man reduced to tears because he felt "vulnerable" by Jim's bullying.

And that was what Jim was doing bullying!
And that's what offended me too, bullies are the scum of the earth!

I'm a gay guy who is twice the size of Brian and twice the man of Jim Davidson. If he spoke to me like that he would have got a beating from me.

But that is the point. That tosser would NEVER have spoken to a gay guy like me like that but knows he can get away with it with Brian. He's a coward.

I like Jim Davidson and I like his Cockney wit. But, that is no excuse for being downright rude in the presence of someone openly gay.
In his statement Jim has said that the pressure was on in the kitchen and that his words matched the moment. He also added that he is NOT homophobic and that he meant no direct offence.

You are as bad as Jim. What right has anyone to judge someone by their sexual preferences? People should not be judged but accepted or rejected for their personality. Do people quiz you about your sex life and make sexist comments like you have the one in your question? Thought not. Oh and by the way I am hetrosexual so not biased.

Yes I agree. Brian obviously had PMT - and like most girls ,the man -Jim- had to suffer.Good job Brian's not in the kitchen with Gordon!

Last time I watched him (on a video he had released), which was about ten or twelve years ago he made lots of jokes about black people. If you think it don't find racism offensive (which some people don't - Bernard Manning was a very popular comedian for about 40 years) then you are welcome to enjoy the humour of Jim Davidson.
Personally though I don't enjoy people making fun of the appearance and ethnicity of other human beings. To me Jim Davidson's racist jokes are offensive and because of this I avoid watching him.

I haven't been keeping up with hell's kitchen but the one thing he said was quite real and that was "can't a white hetrosexual man have an opinion?". As far as I can work out almost all on the show are scared of losing popularity and are not voicing what they might be thinking. Whether i agree or not there used to be a thing called freedom of speech.
