A trip to Urgent Care or the ER. Babies can have seizures with high temps like that.

OK, personally I have found that Motrin reduces a fever way faster than Tylenol. You need to alternate between the two every 4-6 hours. Make sure baby is dressed comfortably. The fever issue is one that I have mixed feelings on. They are quite common with shots, and usually it is advisible to give the baby Tylenol or Motrin about 30 minutes before shots, and also later to make sure there is no fever. As for the actual temp, which method and location was used to take the temp? My medical instructor always told us that the human body will fluctuate through-out the day, with evening being the warmer time, and that a normal temp can hit 101, and be no cause for concern. My pediatrician's first comment to me would be "How is the child acting?". The pediactrician's have never been much concerned unless the child has been really fussy or disoriented or just completely out of sorts.
I don't know if my babble here was much help, but I hope it was!

if she just had shots then the fever is completely normal, however, baby tylenol is the only safe way to bring down a fever this high without medical intervention.

in a child this small...102 is an emergency whether it was because of shots or not..my advice..give her the tylenol..take her temp again in about 15 minutes, if it doesnt go down..get her to the hospital.

low grade fevers in babies are ok to let them sweat out because the fever is fighting off infection..but 102 is serious and if nothing is done it can cause brain damage, siezures, and possible death if left untreated for too long.

hope your baby gets better soon

Tylenol, ( not cold just luke warm) bath, cool cloth to its forehead, and let it run its course.. This is very normal after shots... some children run really high fevers. I would just call the dr. When the office opens today, and talk to the nurse, Unless the fever goes up they will probably tell you to just continue what your doing now..... It will pass... 24-72 hours is usually max..... Make sure its taking in fluids

Give the tylenol an hour to work. pt cool damp washcloth on her head. pt her i a bath lukewarm water. Keep her hydrated if she will drink. Do it now!!!
Take temp with an rectal themometer which will give an accurate reading or underarm. Or w/an earscan one.
If you are using any other device, read the instructions. you may have to add a few degrees to the reading.
If it works, keep a close eye on the temp for the next cpl. of hours.
If it is not coming down after that.
Go directly to the demergency room.
Do not wait!!!,Do not wait!!!,Do not wait!!!

Give her a cooling bath - which is a lukewarm bath, not hot at all and that should help. If she will drink, give her some water. I would call the doctor because she is so young. The more fluids the better as long as she can keep them down. Don't put her in any clothes that are too warm. Good luck!

Did you take any fever med from the Doc? Please give it to your baby. And try to use a wet sponge or towel to pat on your baby. Let her have some loose clothing. Do not warp her up.
Pat with the wet sponge or towel on her forehead, her armpit... try pat her as much as you can... wet the towel again cos you may feel the towel or sponge is warm.. you must keep on wet the towel or sponge. Pat her till you take her temperature again.

Rotate Tylenol and Motrin. If it doesn't break then call her doctor or take her to an urgent care/emergency room facility.

Listen to me carefully. Don't panic. Remove her clothing and sponge her down with lukewarm water or even place her in a cool bath. The idea is to cool down her body temperature immediately, even if you have to use a fan. Phone your doctor right away and ask him to prescribe something more effective if the Tylenol is not working. Be quick. High temps can cause convulsions.
