i just heard somewhere that feeding to sleep is more of a dozy sleep and when they are put down they wake up. so leave her sleep a bit in your arms and then get up and change her nappy and when she wakes have a bit of a play, she will then get tired and this is the time to rock to sleep. my baby still wont sleep more than about two hours at a time including night time. she spends most night in my bed its the only way we can both get some sleep.
above all you cannot force her to sleep but if during the day a short nap in mums arms is ok with you then go for it.

I started early by not letting my daughter sleep with me all the time (sometimes is okay) and putting her in her own crib and rocking her to sleep and then laying her down. I used to breastfeed too and my daughter fell asleep a lot nursing and then I would put her down in her crib. I know the doctor's say not to do this so breastmilk doesn't hurt their gums or teeth, but it worked for me.

It sounds like you're doing a fantastic job with your daughter so far! :) My son is 5 months old. I transitioned him from his co-sleeper to his crib when he was around 4 months old. We live in a one bedroom apartment, so he still sleeps in the same room with us, which is a HUGE help because I still only breastfeed him. I nurse my son to sleep EVERY night. It's comforting to him and I love it to. Our breastfeeding days are numbered and I try to cherish every nursing moment. The bedtime varies from day to day, depending on if he gets all of his naps for the day. But usually he likes to fall asleep around 7:30 - 8 pm. I nurse him to sleep, then I take him off my breast and rock him to sleep some more, then I gently place him on his back in his crib. If he wakes up when I put him in his crib, I 'll first try and shush and rock him gently without picking him up. Usually he falls asleep in a few minutes with that. If not, I'll pick him up again and rock him to sleep until I know for sure he's sound asleep, then gently put him in his crib again. It's not as easy as I would like it to be, but that's what works for him:) Good Luck to you! Maybe your pediatrician has some advice for you as well?

If you are happy then you don't need to do anything. Babies need (and want) their mom! If it's too hard on you then just work slowly at it. Is it possible to pat her in the crib to get her to fall back asleep? It's perfectly fine to breastfeed your baby to sleep. Breastmilk isn't like formula and won't rot out baby's teeth. It has antibiotic qualities. If you like to nurse your baby to sleep then do it. Just do whatever it takes to make mom and baby happy. She WILL sleep eventually, no matter what you do at this point. Good luck!
