The best time to try for a baby probably depends on the woman more so than the man. It really depends on when the woman is ovulating.
Guys get erections every time they dream. If he wakes up with one, it just means that he was dreaming before he woke up.
Is it the best time for sex, that's up to the two of you. It probably won't take much to get him in the mood, cause he's already there, the question there would be is she in the mood.

Anytime a man has an erection it's a good time to try for a baby. I read also that hormone levels are different in the mornings and it is a good time to try and conceive. I think men normally wake up with erections though don't they? : /

Not really, because usually after a night's sleep, the bladder can be a bit full and we'd want to go and have a wee, otherwise any kind of vigourous excerise would be quite painful.
Now.........if it's the only time that the guy has an erection, then yes, it would be the best time!

Most guys can get an erection at any time of day, and any of those times is good as far as the guy is concerned!
