I don't think it was Diana that had such the dark side. Seems too much like Diana was used for "breeding purposes", then look what happened to her, at a time in her life when she was with a guy she really was having fun with. (and it all turned out the way Camilla wanted it.) I agree with "D"...Queen Elizabeth has the darker side.

Yes she did have a dark side - as we all do. The most unfortunate thing for Diana, was that her dark side was public property, constantly being spashed all over the tabloids, probably being trumped up 10 times more than what it really was to try to sell newspapers.

I am truly grateful that only a few have seen my dark side - and it's not splashed all over the tabloids for the world to see.

Here's a pop psychology answer: Princess Diana because of her parents' divorce when she was six-years-old felt abandoned and needed constant reassuring that she was loved. She found this adoration in the crowds that came to see her, but she did not find it from whom she sought it most, Prince Charles. Raised by nannies, he also felt abandoned and also needed an enabler. Psychologically, the couple was a very poor match.

Yes definitely. The clearest example being her inability to do her job as a princess and member of the Royal family. When she was due at important state functions she would often be off on her own little interests. If she had only done these on her own time it would have been fine. Instead by her absence she insulted a great many foregin dignitaries and potential investors in Britain costing the country Billions of dollars in lost investment.

Diana is potrayed as a wronged woman because her husband cheated on her. But she herself had numerous affairs and was far from being an angel. So one wonders what's the glorification of her after her death is all about .

I loved her so much, but I think her dark side was in her head. She had been prone to depression and did not always like to be on display for the world to see, although she made the best of it she could and was indeed a Princess we all loved and admired for her selflessness. God bless her and may she rest in Peace.

Everyone has a dark side.I don't think hers was evil it was just lonely. She was treated like dirt while in the royal arena. When I heard her interview talking about how she was treated I could relate. My husbands family treated me like an outsider and let me know I would always be an outsider. You react and that's what she did when she tried to kill herself and suffered bulimia. I had it easier and got divorced but look back and wish I handled it better than I did.

No. Not more than any other person... Except only perhaps, in defense, in proportion to the vitriol and perverse machinations of *the Royal Crown,* which she tried to expose for the overly vaunted grotesque skeletons which they perhaps really are, sans closet.
