Depends where you live. There isn't usually an age limit, I don't think. I assume they wouldn't give them to you if you were prepubescent though, but I don't think many undeveloped 8 year olds go asking for birth control pills so that's probably never been tested.

Are you asking at what age can you get pregnant, or how old do you have to be to get a prescription for birth control? First, though uncommon, girls can become pregnant at very early ages. Often by 12 or earlier (much less common). Okay, in many locales, girl's under the age of 18 can have access to reproductive related care without a parents' consent. So check with your local public health center or look in the yellow pages for a women's health group or organization for information. AND, birth control does not prevent Sexually Transmitted Disease. Condoms do a very good job of providing protection for both disease and unplanned pregnancy. And remember, have your partner put on the condom before you begin because the first few drops of semen have the highest concentration of sperm. So you can get pregnant even if your partner does not orgasm inside of you, because some semen is released before orgasm. Enjoy a healthy sexual life, but be practical and be careful. Peace

The pill is prescribed for a number of reasons. Periods that are irregular, bad skin, heavy periods and then to prevent pregnancy. What do you want from the pill and then discuss it with mom or a school teacher that you trust. I believe the injection is alot better and safer for young girls as you cant miss a day. Just be careful and good luck.

It is at the doctors discretion in practice. See your doctor if you need help. They will respect your confidentiality

The legal age for intercourse(UK) is 16

Many females are sexually active before this.

When seen for contraceptive advice they usually are already active.-therefore not realistic to tell them not to have sex--too late

Therefore advice is not condoning action but preventing complications.

I would prefer a young girl to prevent an unwanted pregnancy than to request an abortion.

If you have their trust you can also discuss risk of STD(also use of condoms) etc and ask them to pass on advice to their friends also. They often do this and their friends subsequently seek help.

No matter your age, the pill is still not good for you. Especially the ones that can lower the amount of periods you have in a year. Its best to talk to your doctor about it. Or if your embarrassed or don't want your family to know, go to a planned parenthood.

Do not think that there is an age limit if you are of child bearing age. You can go to the doctor with your parents or to planned parenthood without them.
