Aunty Phil is a walking PR disaster and my feeling is the UK press are far worse than the portuguese press when it comes to speculating. They should have stayed where they were. (or come home a long time ago - for the sake of the normality they now seek for the twins)
As far as I am aware the PJ have not made any official statements regarding what is contained in that 'file of evidence'.

They've made it what it is - a PR stunt gone horribly wrong.
Was their motives all financially motivated??
1 GP, 1 specialist, surely they didn't need the money and I really cant see how a 4 yr old could upset their parents so much they kill her... Its all a very strange turn of events, but they shouldn't have any right to the money, its to find their daughter, not to bail them out.

Brunettebeauty's comment about Gerry McCanns voice sums up the anti-McCann camp wonderfully..... vitriolic and spiteful.
Whether Gerry McCann is guilty or not of any crime, what the hell has his voice got to do with it? This is playground talk.
edit: Mr Whippy - Fat Phil? are you talking about Philomena McCann? Does her weight have any bearing on this whatsoever?
All this personal abuse is uncalled for, If you can't use facts to make your point why answer at all?

I admit, the McCanns have, until recently, had a damn good PR over the disappearance of their daughter, I know if I had a child go missing I would wanna highlight the disappearance in every single way possible, to as many people as possible, as the McCanns have done (tho I may skip the visit to the Pope!) We have all heard so many stories about the disappearance of Maddie and I gotta say, all we can comment about is media speculation, none of us know the real facts about this case, all we know is the basic fiction that is printed in our newspapers and reported about on TV. The only people who know the facts about what they did and didn't do is Kate and Gerry and if for now they say they didn't do it them I'm afraid that's all we have to go on right now, for as the old adage says, innocent until proven guilty..

Why are people so damned cruel when really it is all speculation, personally condemning people and making rash judgements is too easy - high pitched voice wtf has that got to do with anything - and Philomena is doing what any caring family member would do. I hope all you who are so quick to condemn without facts don't find yourself being falsely accused of anything and your jury made up of people as judgemental as yourselves.
I am not a so called McFann - I just don't know the facts and I do see pain and torture on the faces of these people and don't think all the speculation is doing anybody any good. Lets not forget what the whole thing is all about - it is not about hating the Mc Canns it is about a child that is what we should all be focusing on!!!

It's a turning point, because after months of lies, we are finally getting to the truth - that's what changed.
The McLiars can spin all they like, Kate can parade 'cuddle cat' all she likes, Fat Phil can continue to be the mouthpiece for them but slowly the British public are waking up to the ghastly reality that they're hiding something.

There is something not quite right about this couple that I can't put my finger on. She seems to lap up any photo opportunity, they have a 'spokeswoman' who speaks for them as if they are royalty, next they'll have their own press office and will probably approach Max Clifford. They are too media savvy for their own good in my opinion. The fund was set up within 2 weeks which was to say the least a bit hasty. This could be one of those stories that drags on and on, similar to the Barrymore case.

Yes, they are beginning to panic, it will not be long now before we get to the bottom of this mystery & I fear there will be a lot of people here in the UK (mainly those that read the rubbish in hte gutter press) that will have eggs on their faces.
