Buy a can of spray silicone and spray it on all the electrical wiring under the hood, in the starter area and underneath the car including the wiring to the fuel pump when the car is dry and the engine is cold. More than likely water is penetrating some electronic component or water is penetrating the ignition system.

This is a common problem when the distributor cap is cracked. It doesn't matter if you have the electronic ignition or the old points and breaker type. Spray some WD-40 into the dome and on the base of the distributor. WD-40 is a water dispersant, not a lubricant. Count on replacing your distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires in the near future.

dont know what kind of car you have. but if it has the old points the distributor cap is probably getting wet. go to the auto store and get a can of wd-40 and spray it around on the cap. this will soak the water out and it should crank. have done this myself in the past.

make sure water did not get into the exhaust pipe. and make sure the spark plugs are dry. If you are driving an automatic then you always have to be sure that everything dries out so you don't short the computer or the gear box.
