I think it is. Yes. America, the biggest economic power on earth. But really, some americans are making their dreams elsewhere on this earth. It has become a dream to make it in life, be it anywhere not just in America. It's everyone's dream to make it in life, not just in another country, but in their own country. What i'm trying to say is, just so that some of you understand. The American Dream is so yesterday. The UK is good, so are the Asian countries, like Singapore. Australia is good too. With hopes and dreams people go to countries to make it big. I'm just asking, if you think The American Dream is passe?

I believe more so today than ever before. I dont know how anyone could believe the Australian dream of home ownership is unobtainable as "traveler" said, you just have to be realistic, i was paying of 2 homes on huge blocks of land and sold 1 last year than traveled the world. It's probably more accesible in Australia, thats why so many Americans and English come here, easier to be a big fish in a "little pond" like Sydney than NYC or London. But we do have the "tall poppy" syndrome here, we tend to pull "big shots" back down to earth, shame really.

The American Dream referred to owning a house and a car; I suppose that thought has evolved? But still it is possible to have those things in the US and elsewhere. Probably one is more likely by percentage to have that in the USA than nearly any other place in the world, with the arguable exception of Australia. Few can ever expect to own a house on a piece of land, but have to settle for a owned apartment in Singapore, Hong Kong, or many other places in Asia. There are more people who own cars AND homes on land in the USA than any other place I believe.

Not completely. Thousands and millions of people in America today and throughout the world believe in the American Dream of ownership and freedom from tyranny. However, I do think the American Dream could be in danger of being forsaken and the object of derision if Greenland and Antarctica melt into the ocean and raise the sea level by who knows how many meters.

No, I believe that the "American dream" is real. I know that one must be particularly frugal at present, to have some of the things that one desires. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

In this age of Global environment,if you think that any one who confines his dreams to the geographical limits of his own country and can make big, think again. As of now, more than 70 % of American earnings are from outside of America. To confine American dream to your way of thinking would tantamount to stifle and kill that dream.NO,American dream can not be bound to any geographical boundaries but has to be Global. The Dream is on and intact.

No I do not think so. America is a great country despite its dismal record of interference in internal affairs of certain resourceful countries.
That is their dream. They have their set backs.
Yet it is not passe!
