Predominantly used in countries like England, America, Australia but not for a long time I think.
For this day and age I think there are better names out there.

It's short for Douglas, don't know what it means but it was used in the U.K. It's considered old fashioned at the moment. I live half a mile from a river Douglas in Lancashire.
