Die cut - is a usually machine cut image. It may be lettering, animals, flowers... Pretty much anything. Sometimes they are already completely cut out and ready to use, but commonly they are sold in a sheet and just require you to push them out of the base cardstock. Die cuts can be further embellished with chalks, paints, pens etc to create an original piece for your page. Here are some links to sites with die cuts.

Scrapbooking Die Cuts

Die Cuts: Die cuts are paper cut outs used to enhance your
scrapbook pages. They come in a variety of shapes, colors,
and sizes. You can purchase die cuts in a craft store or
other retail stores. You can customize your own die cuts
using a die cut machine.

Embellishments: Speaking of embellishments, one of the most preferred embellishments that artists use is tassles. Tassles are ornaments consist of loose threads, embroidery floss, yarns, straw, raffia or cords. They are not only best for scrap booking but for knitting projects, scarves, bookmarks, pillows, draperies and afghans as well. You can find tassles ubiquitously. Nonetheless, if you desire to do it personally, tassle-making is pretty much easy.

Here are the simple steps in making tassles:

1. Cut a piece of cardboard based on the size of tassle you want to have.

2. Wrap a piece of yarn (or any of your desired material) around the cardboard. Cut the yarn at the untied end.

3. Wrap the long piece of yarn around the tassle. If you are satisfied with the look and style, insert its end (through a needle) to anchor said tassle.

4. Trim excess ends to give the tassle a clean look.

Accent : An accent is an embellishment that fits your theme.
You can add your embellishments after you created
your pages or place them now to see if they help
accent your page. Eg. You can use the dark color cardstock to accentuate a black and white photo.

A torn look is a great accent to add with your
cardstock. To achieve this look you will need a durable
piece of cardstock. You will slowly tear the cardstock
by directing it with your hand. This technique will give
it a fuzzy jagged look around the edges. Use this tip
for borders and background paper.
