Ya wouldn't be the fist person uncomfortable with some aspects of their ethnic group.

Lots of Muslims are praying their brothers won't embarrass them this 9/11.

So find a job where you feel happy & safe, play nice with the different races, even the ones you don't like.

And hey, you might find a nice bunch of liberals who are ashamed of being white and swap jokes.

Good Luck.

I hear you and I feel you, and there is nothing wrong to feel that way. The thing is maybe there is something you want to avoid, maybe your past experiences, work ethics or what you might have heard from other sources. Whatever it is there is nothing wrong in feeling the way you are feeling.

BUT, there is something wrong in addressing the issue theyw ay you are...turning your back on black people just because...they are black and.... You got to remember being black is not a choice, I am chocolate lol fortunately and I love working among black folks, peach folks and people of any other colors you may think of. They do not decide my destiny, and they do not define my work ethics either.

You got to remember only you can make a change about your opinion and alienating yourself will neither change your color or work ethics or whatever on earth you don't like in the black folks arena.

Face it, concur it, that is what a successful person would do.

Everyone should try to get a job which they enjoy, where they are not made to feel threatened. You do not seem too sure of your decision if you are asking others if you have made the right decision. Being black is only the colour of someone's skin - like being tanned, white etc and usually does not have any bearing on whether that person is nasty or friendly. Perhaps if you lived by the name you have given yourself on this site, you would learn to accept people for who they are and see there is more to them than just the colour of their skin.

I don't necessarily think it is bad, but I do think that you can miss out on some good life experiences by turning things down due to the race of certain people.
This job could have led to something wonderful.
It could have been a stepping stone to an even better job, a big raise, you might have met new friends, who knows?
Sometimes God leads us to places for a reason.
You might find yourself in this situation many more times in life, until you learn whatever it is that a higher power is trying to tell you.♥♥

no. If you would feel uncomfortable in the work environment, nobody else can push their values on you and change that. Go where you will feel good about being there. Just because something is politically correct, does NOT always make it the best choice.

being honest to yourself isn't wrong at all.. we make a lot of choices in life and its not wrong to choose something that would make you happy.

but i think you also have prejudice towards people of color (that which i think is not fair).
