hello, i need to know what is the correct mixture for my bike, i dont have a users manual. I just ride trails and am currently on 24:1 ratio but ive heard this is high and 40:1 is better ratio. I add 200ml 2-stroke oil to 5L of premium unleaded. I dont race the bike i just rev it up alittle but not heaps so what ratio should i be using?

32:1 is a sort of "standard ",,,
40:1 works just as well.

150 ml in 5L=aprox 33.3:1

125ml : 5L = about 40:1

Anything that is convenient for you in that range will work fine.

Per Liter of Petrol>>
32:1= approx 30ml Oil (33.3:1 actually)
40:1= 25ml of Oil

Hope that helps

They are right, 2.6oz per gal. BUT the ratio has NOTHING to do with the oil you are using. Yes there are some oil companies that would suggest a lower ratio (42:1 or so). Thats like saying "Use this much water to make 5 gallons half water and half ammonia but use a little more than that if you are using vinegar instead of water." even though you still want the 1:1 ratio. And I run West Marine 2-stroke oil in my 200hp outboard and have never had a problem with it at 50:1. West Marine oil is actually one of the best non-sythetics you can buy.

40:1 should be good. 24:1 won't really hurt anything unless you start fouling a plug (as long as its ashless and don't allow buildup). They use to test oils in dirt bikes at 100:1 and it didn't hurt anything (premium oils like Klotz and BelRay). If you keep it pretty easy on the bike I would even go 50:1. Thats what most riders I know use. Again, this is with good racing oil, not the weed eater oil! People stress way too much over this. As long as its close (24-50:1) it will be fine.
