I don't think the avatar has anything to do with it, but the position of the question when it shows on the list and how interesting the question is.

I don't believe that is true. Avatars do not necessarily look like the person who uses it. Also- people tend to answer questions based on how interesting, obnoxious, or crazy the question is. Maybe the people using "white male" avatars just have a higher percentage of questions.

For me - it is the content of the question and NOT the avatar that decide if I will answer or not.
White avatar means nothing. No one knows the person behind the avatar may look like or what colour they are.

Dude I just blast through the questions I dig. About the only thing that gets my attention beyond that is a hot chick avatar I don't recognize which gets me wondering if there's hot chicks on late-night YA.
