It sounds way too formal to me, but it really depends on where you are going to interview. If what you are wearing fits in to that company, then by all means, go for it!
Is the pink top bright pink or subdued?
I would not wear the velvet skirt and the patent leather shoes together.
A long velvet skirt needs to have heels with it. The patent slip ons should be worn with a knee length or mid calf skirt or pants.

Personally, I would re-vamp the outfit and have someone that you trust both with fashion and with their common sense help you out.

It could depend on the job you are interviewing for.
Be comfortable and confident in what you wear, that is important, and if you are asking a question about some clothes that you are wondering about, then no, these are wrong.
I know this because if we have to ask, the answer is no, otherwise you would not ask.
Wear something black, a long skirt is fine, or trousers, tailored, black footwear, black jacket, white shirt, these will hold you in whatever job you are applying for.
You would look lovely in the clothes you were wondering about, but probably keep them for a more formal occasion.
The best of luck with your interview, and next time we hear from you, you may have a new career.

Velvet long skirt? Pink top with patent leather? Slip on shoes?

It sounds a little strange but it could be cute on the right person?

That does not sound good at all. Velvet went out of style years ago, right along with the patent leather shoes.

Hey sweetie, it depends on the type of job you're going for... Personally, I think it's always better to stick with black - because it's simple and classic. Maybe try a black mid-length skirt and a nice blouse with some dressy leather shoes.

Good luck with the interview :-)

velvet is a bit formal for a job interview, especially if by "long skirt" you mean full length.

As much as possible, the rule is to dress like the people who are interviewing you.

Way too formal and way too hot. Keep the pink top, change out the long skirt for either a shorter skirt or a pair of slacks

depends on the profession you apply for. formal wear of white blouse and black or grey jacket for an executive position and simple plain blouse will do for a clerical post. This is international standard on earth though I am from Mars!!!

Go with something more classic, like a black A-line skirt or something. Or black slacks.
Velvet is a little too much I think!

Hi:

Depending on the job, more conservative is probably better. If you have a nice dark color suit - jacket and skirt, that's probably a better choice. Good luck to you and I hope you land a good job!
