Actually........ A rectangle has 4 sides. In this case, 2 of them are
3x-4 units long and the other 2 are 7x+10, so the total perimeter is
2*(3x-4)+2*(7x+10) = 20x+12

Hey Kid,

Try this, just multiply each side of the rectangle by 2 and add them all to get the perimeter:

perimeter= 2(3X-4)+2(7X+10)

Simplify the equation and you got what you need

huh?

a rectangle should have 4 sides, and 2 of them should be equal...

2(3x-4) + 2(7x+10) = P

3 sides? doesn't rectangle have 4 sides?
anyway; P=2w+2l
=2(3x-4)+2(7x+10)
=6x-8+14x+20
P=20x+12

in this case i think it should be like this

(3x-4)*3 + 7x+10= 16x-2

because there are three sides that are 3x-4 so we need to times 3

hope this will help you solve your problem
