There is NO Pentium T2160 BUT there is E2160 1.8Ghz (Core2 Duo).
E2160 beats old Pentium Ds here:

I didn't see the 925 listed, but toms does have several 3.0GHz Pentiums on their CPU compare chart. Play around with it, the two things I checked showed the 2160 winning. Some of them looked to be close however. As long as the 2160 isn't much more expensive, I would get it.

WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? The pentiun D IS a dual core, WTF! I have a Pentium D 840 & its a 3.2GHz dual core CPU & it rocks. Sure its a bit older, INTELS 1st attempt at a true dual core & runs a bit warmer than the core duo but there is nothing wrong with it. In fact I dont think theres a better CPU out there in its price range. My rigs 2 years old & still rocks! INTEL 840, 2GB DDR2 PC4200 RAM & an ATI X850XT PE. It plays any & every game that I have installed & has never missed a beat. If money is an issue with you like it is me go with the D, if you got grips of money buy a better but more expensive part.

The Dual Core. Besides, CPU performance is no longer measured solely on GHz.
Why don't you get the Core 2 Quad Q6600?

Benchmarking these two processors will prove that the T2160 is a bit faster (bar overclocking the D) and I the reason for this is the address bus and the cache.
Get the dual core!

find out what type of processors the dual core has. if they are are two pentium D's than go with that cuz itll benefit you for the future of advancing technology, but if its a pentium 4 or anything lower, go with teh 3.0 ghz pentium d.

think about it this way 3.0 ghz is just a simple processor and now a dual core T2160 witch is a 1.8 Ghz + 1.8 GHz
id go with the T2160 because its faster

pentium e2160. It just came out even though its a pentium D. Overclock it to 3.2 and it'll be faster than a E6750.
