I was on my way to work when something told me to turn on the television, I never watch TV in the mornings, I could'nt believe my eyes. I was watching when the second plane hit the second tower. :( I have to admit it made me angry.

Let's pray for all the families who lost loved ones that day and there-after.

Lord please console all the families that were hurt on Sept 11th 2001. Lord, please bless them and help fulfill all their needs. Please Lord protect our country from terrorism and hate. Thank you Lord Jesus.

I want to personally thank all who responded to this question. I felt it is appropriate for us all to remember those who lost their loved ones that terrible day. My intention is also to ask everyone to never forget the sinking feeling you felt that day for all those who were affected; for all of us have a heart, and we should always care that much for one another, each and every day. I want you all to know you and your family & friends are in my prayers.

God Bless You All!
:)

I just woke up and wandered into the living room. The TV was already on and I thought I was watching some kind of TV show or movie. It took me a while to figure out that it wasn't a show. I was also meeting a best friend on the same day, who was very distraught. And I remember looking up at the silent sky and wondering if we were next.

Although I was only about 10 years old at the time and live in Australia, I clearly remember turning on the TV to watch my morning cartoons (you know, Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z) when instead this footage of the attacks were shown. it continued through the whole day and all normal shows were cancelled that day. I did not understand why planes would fly into a building, especially the Twin Towers, but now I understand and I pray for all the lives that were lost that day.

It was approximately 10:45 pm on sept 11th ( in australia ) I had just logged off from the net after chatting and surfing.... and was about to go to bed when my husband called out to me and said that the news had just reported a plane had crashed into the World trade Centre........

INITIALLY .. i thought .. oh that's sad ..and THOUGHT it was just a small plane and an accident .. BUT i didn't give it much more thought than that.... THEN my husband called out again .. and said that the Melbourne news was going to take LIVE american coverage of what took place.. SO we knew it wasn't a little plane....

I came of the bedroom to watch the news with my husband and it was horrific to see that it was a LARGE plane that had crashed .. IT STILL COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT ...

as we watched the reports .. my husband suddenly called out " OH GOD LOOK THERE'S ANOTHER PLANE ( this was the footage that was being shown behind two female news announcers.. and it was LIVE to air)... we watched in sheer disbelief as the second plane steered in towards the second tower......

at the point we both stood up .. re-logged onto our computers and went into our usual chat hang-outs.. as my american buddys came into the chat room.. They'd do their Usual GOOD MORNING with smiley faces and all i could say is GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND TURN ON YOUR TV'S.
this happened time and time again and I sat up till nearly three in the morning ( I had to be up at 5am to go to work)..

the next day was surreal ... my life continued as Normal .. but the atmosphere was so different.

It was a day that i would never like to see ever again

I was watching evening news on local TV. They just innocuously reported that the Twin Towers have been hit by a plane and they'll keep the viewers updated as they get more details of that story. Immediately I switched over to CNN and lo and behold! One of the towers had already collapsed. The second tower soon followed suit. Ultimately, it turned out to be a long, long night.

Yeah, let's pray today for the innocent victims of that dastardly act. They included a newly wed couple from my country. The young girl's name was Shakila. You'll find her photo in the first Newsweek that was published after 9/11.

The demolition of Twin Towers diminished us all. That day the bell really tolled for all of us!

I was at work in downtown Houston, when one of my coworkers said that a plane hit the world trade center it didn't really sink in right away. I do remember hearing my boss say if the second tower is hit, it's terrorists. I looked at her like she was crazy then walked over to our plasma screens and watched in utter disgust when the plane hit the second tower. I remember screaming "Dear God" and the tears came. The reality of it was so painful watching hopeless souls jumping from windows and just knowing what hell those folks in those buildings must be going through. An executive came out of his office and said "We are a target go back to your desks and await further instruction" I went back to my desk and packed up and left no further instructions needed for me.

God Bless anyone affected by these horrific events from that day....

I actually was on the net in a chat room. I live in California. Yes, I had been up all night. I had played a gig at a bar and came home around 2:30 am. I always left the TV on when I was in the den. It was almost surreal. Some one in the chat room said, "OMG, are you watching the news!" I craned my head to look at my set, just as Laurer I think was saying this was a live shot. I got up to see the TV straight on as plane 2 hit tower one.

I was stunned. The only thing that kept running in my head, " We are at war, we are at war!" I woke up my husband, just yelling, " We've been attacked!" Those first few moments you saw the debris, and even jumpers.

I called and woke up my parents. I sat on the phone with my mom. I yelled at my kids to NOT go to school. They argued planes were hitting New York and Washington, not suburban high schools. They went to school despite my panic.

The whole day became a blur for me. Anger, horror, sadness, and vengeance. But what September 11 represents more for me, is that Americans come together when tragedy and crisis strike us.

We can get political, but we really are a nation that can come together when faced with crisis.

I was on my way to work too. I was a social worker at the time, and since most of our work was field-work, coming in a bit late was no big deal. As I was driving, I heard it on the radio that a plane had hit the WTC, and a few minutes later, I heard that another plane had hit. It was some smart a$$y radio station, so I didn't take it seriously at first, but when I got into work everyone was talking about it, and the details came in as the day progressed. It was a tragic day, and I hope that President Bush and his Saudi associates don't orchestrate another one anytime soon.

I was at the bank in Arlington Va, when I first heard. On my way home I heard of the second plane. I had called my Mom and told her to turn the TV on. Minutes later I heard a huge explosion and felt the concussion of the explosion go right thorugh me. I looked out my window and saw a huge fireball coming out of the Pentagon. That day still is very difficult for me and I will never forget what happened in my neighborhood. I will spend the day remembering my neighbors who were killed. I thank you for the prayer as this is always a very difficult tear filled day for me.

That was actually a very interesting day. I got on the wrong bus after I stayed late for some Scrabble competition at high school - and ended up in some weird village where there were no telephone lines. I was in Pakistan at the time - and it also happened that I had no cellphone. So I ended up in this village where all the women wore those black burka thingies and there were no roads, only dirt paths. I got home 5 hours later than I said I would be home- to find my parents crying and convinced that I was dead. After everyone had sufficiently yelled at me for my irresponsibility, we turned on the TV just in time to see the second tower fall.

I was having cup of coffee before going to work and was watching the whole thing on TV before I realized it was real. I was in shock. The phone rang and I had to rush into work because, we were on high security risk and had to shut down the hospital parking lots to fly in helicopters to fly out the Reservists. My son called me to tell me my daughter was in the air on some plane somewhere, and I almost lost it.
She got re routed to Texas and was stuck there for 2 days. It was the most stressful day of my life. The next day my friend called to tell me her husband was killed in the towers. I don't think I will ever get over that day.
