Because Holistic Medicine can cure you and that is what our doctors don't want to happen, then they cant sell you medicines and they wont be making any money.
They are not interested in curing you, just in selling you drastic medicine which you have to take on and on and on and they get richer and richer and richer.
Its just common sense, they have nothing to gain by curing you, and everything to gain by keeping you hooked to the chemicals they call medicine.

Take Care and God Bless you.

There are various books for cures that are basically natural and helpful. How then can a doctor profit if you use your intelligence to read those books and find cures? Thus, just about any doctor will refute what the "natural cures remedies" would do. The doctors just can't make money off of that. Think about this, Has any doctor ever told you that you are fine and there is no need for you to return to him/her? Usually the doctor says, make an appointment with my nurse. The doctors want your money. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace, Love and God Bless.

There are a number of theories and conspiracy theories behind this question.

Yes, it could be that doctors want to "put a band-aid" on an illness instead of heal it.... it could be that doctors are scared to do anything that's not "put tab A into slot B".... I don't think any one person knows the exact answer.

My personal take on it is that different people respond differently to different supplements. Because of that, there is NO direct correlation (even for a good percentage of the time) that a certain product will be the best for ____ ailment. Drugs on the other hand DO have a very high percentage for certain ailments, although they have a lot of side effects.

The best reason I have come up with for this is that drugs work to help the symptoms of a problem, while natural supplements work to help the CAUSE of a problem.... if you don't know what's causing certain symptoms, it's hard to know what supplement may help it.

However, with a little trial and error (which is commonly needed for drugs because of their side effects), anyone can find the best product for them to help keep their body working at peak efficiency. Most doctors don't want to deal with that uncertainty or worry about patients suing them if something doesn't work well enough.

For one very simple reason GREED nothing else.
Allopathy or Conventional medicine is just a money making machine not a way to cure and the Giants of Pharmaceutical Industry are doing their level best to subdue all sorts of natural medicine as if God wants us to use dangerous chemicals instead of natural products LOL (What a joke, like this guy Opus up there, full of crap).

Actually modern medicine is the alternative that has become mainstream which subverts the real medicine... Hipocrates said let medicine be your food and food your medicine.... That is the true way which they have turned into just an alternative because they can't get rich with it

I think today's doctors are trained to treat the symptoms. In their defense, much of today's society wants instant results. Both of these conditions lead to throwing a profit making drug at a problem (rather than treating the underlying cause) and the patient is happy--so the doctor is happy--so the drug companies are happy....but society isn't any healthier!!

I'm not saying medical doctors don't have their place--for traumatic injuries--or when things become critical and the symptoms have to be calmed before the body can heal itself....but with the increase in deaths from drug interactions...I think even doctors don't know the damage they cause by side effects of the drugs they prescribe with good intentions!

Yes, I can simply answer this question. The doctors don't believe in it because they would rather have you stay sick so that they can keep making money. They want you to keep seeing them so the can make their $$$$ pretty sad isn't it? Hope I didn't step on any toes. BUT, be honest most doctors are cheap and love the money! Not all of them, most of them, I happen to know some personally.
I am a firm believer in Holistic healing. I am a Professional Massage Therapist. That means I don't prostitute myself like some "massage therapist"do

Despite all the crap answers, the truth is there are two major factors:
1) Doctors are trained in Evidence-based medicine. If a therapy has sufficient evidence that it works, it will be adopted and become part of routine care. Most "alternative" medicine has little, if any, evidence that it works at all, much less any evidence that it is better than existing therapies. Anecdotal reports are the worst sort of evidence, because they are subject to multiple sources of confounding factors that lack any control. Therefore, the anecdotal reports that abound in "alternative" medicine do not convince any critical-thinking physician.
2) In the USA, doctors practice in constant fear of lawsuits. Any physician that would use apple cider vinegar instead of the accepted and proven therapies runs the risk of winding up in court. There, he would have to explain why he chose to use an unproven method instead of the most effective method known. No doctor wants to do that.

Bottom line, Lack of scientific evidence and risk of being sued.

Its because the NHS can hardly charge you for going to the supermarket and gettin apple cider vinegar
Its why they dont say herbal remedies work! Its nice to know that they dont think herbal remedies work really, since most medicines these days are based on manufactured herb contents!!!

I think doctors care about health and healing its just that doctors are taught that there isn't a cure for anything and that only manufactured drugs can make a person any better. also drug companies have a say in what is taught in med schools.
