Currently, there aren't really any great rivalries, just artificial ones created by the media. Kobe vs. Raja? Maybe some animosity between the two, but for it to be a great rivalry, both players really should be on the same level, or close to it, and, say what you will about Kobe, he's on a level that Raja Bell will never see, so it's more that they just don't like each other than a rivalry.
LeBron and DWade? Not even close. Maybe in the future, but right now, it's not there. Kevin Garnett vs. Tim Duncan has some real potential to build into a great rivalry in the near future.
Magic and Bird
Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain
Michael Jordan vs. the Pistons and the Jordan Rules
Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning

Bird and Magic and Russell and Wilt are the only two worth even mentioning. It is all B.S. anyway because it's a team game and three of those four were the best team players in history. (Actually, Wilt became a great team player too in his final years).

try, karl malone/charles barkley, try john stockton/isiah thomas. in basketball, individual rivalries dont matter much because it is such a team sport. but you could also say that it has great effects. look at shaq and kobe, look what it did to the lakers. i hope this helps

Individual rivalries worth noting are rare in the NBA. You only have 2: Wilt and Russ, Bird and Magic.
As for teams . . . . well:

Milwaukee Bucks(Kareem, Oscar and co.) vs. LA Lakers(West, Chamberlain and co.)
Boston Celtics (Larry Bird and co.) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (Dr. J and co.)
Philadelphia 76ers (Dr. J and co.) vs. LA Lakers(Magic and co.)
