Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day? Out in the yard with your wife and children working on some stage melee? Did you stand there in shock in the sight of that black smoke rising against the blue sky? Did you shout out in anger? Did you fear for your neighbor? Or did you just sit down and cry? Did you weep for the children who lost their dear loved ones and pray for the ones you don’t know? Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble and sob for the ones left below? Did you burst out with pride for the red white and blue and for the heroes who died just doing what they do? Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer? And look at yourself for what really matters? Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day? Teaching a class full of innocent children? Did you feel guilty cause you’re a survivor? In a crowded room did you feel alone? Did you call up your mother just to tell her that you love her? Did you dust off that Bible at home? Did you open your eyes and hoped that it never happened? Did you close your eyes and not go to sleep? Did you notice the sunset for the first time in ages? Did you speak to some stranger on the street? Did you go to a church and hold hands with a stranger? Or stand in line and give your own blood? Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family - and thank God that you had somebody to love? Now I am just a singer of simple songs and not a political man. I watch CNN but I am not sure I can tell you the difference between Iraq and Iran. But I know Jesus and I talk to God. And I remember this from when I was young - faith hope and love are some good things He gave us. And the greatest is love.

I remember that a woman I worked with at the time told me she'd just heard on the radio that a plane crashed into one of the twin towers. I figured it was a small single engine plane and that maybe 3 or 4 people were killed but nothing like it turned out to be. Then hours later, after the Pentagon and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, I remember just wondering what was next. I had that feeling that our safety that we'd taken for granted was gone, at least for the moment.
Then when all of the planes were grounded and I remember that here in Indiana it was a totally clear day, not a cloud in the sky and it was almost erie how you couldn't see a single plane anywhere.
Then I remember driving home from work that evening and seeing gas prices over $6 per gallon. People taking advantage of a horrible situation to rip people off.

I remember getting ready to go to the doctor and I was babysitting my sister's son and he was watching cartoons but as I sat on the bed to put my shoes on I accidentally hit the remote and the channel changed to the news (I don't remember which one) and I saw one of the twin towers in flames and my heart sank. I remember hearing the anchor man literally say "oh ****" on air as we all watched the second plane hit. Tears are brought to my eyes now because all I remember pleading was please let those planes be empty (meaning no passengers) My godparents were traveling that day from NY to California and all I could do was cry and think the worst.I went to my mother's house that day and we drove around and picked everyone up from work and school. My sister's husband works for LIRR and we didn't hear from him when everything happened but we knew he was in the city. My brother worked a few blocks away also in the city and he called us crying. I have never heard a grown man cry until that day. It was probably one of times I remember that the whole family was in my mother's living room watching t.v and crying. By the end of the day we heard from my godparents and my sister's husband who were safe. But needless to say it WAS and IS a day I will always remember. I pray for all those who lost someone that day although there are no words to comfort anyone who loss someone is such a horrific tragedy. I won't go into my anger towards the government and my views on the 9'11 truth but for all of us it's a day we will always remember. God Bless.

When that happened i was still sleeping, I woke up around 12 and walked into the living room I noticed my mom had the news on and it said "breaking news" at the bottom..i asked her what was going on and she was like it's unbelievable..I was 16 at the time and will never forget the faces of the families on TV holding up signs asking have you seen my daddy. To think of how these terrorists can do such things to innocent people all because they don't embrace their own stupid religious beliefs is beyond me.They wanted to scare us, to break us apart but all it did was bring all Americans across the country closer to each other. I just pray that nothing like that will ever happen again and God Bless the families who lost loved ones that day

I was on my way to work when it happened. When I got to work that's when I first heard about it. After that I called home to see if they knew any more about what had happened. And they told me that two planes crashed into the World Trade Center. All day long I kept hearing rumors about what happened in New York. When I got home that day the first thing I did was turn on the tv and that's when it really hit home that all those rumors I'd been hearing that day were not just rumors they were the truth. The worst part was watching the twin towers collapsing. All I could think about at that moment was those poor people trapped inside those buildings when they collapsed. They were even showing pictures of some people jumping out of one of the buildings. I think that was one of the worst days in the history of our country.

In fear, horror and sadness I witnessed the events unfold that day. I pulled my family close, hugged my neighbors, called all of my family- even those I hadn't spoken to in years. I reached out for all those I could touch, in reaction to the horror of lives just lost, all those that would never be touched or touch again.
And I got angry that there are people in this world so full of hate and venom that they could massacre innocent life in a flash. The same feeling I had when learning about the Holocaust, Apartheid, or any genocide being carried out in todays world.
And I felt pride that our country responded to the injustice, however incomplete that response now seems to be. The affects may have faded, but will never, ever be forgotten.

Hi and good morning...I remember, the day of infamy where beloved friends, relatives and loved ones died that day on Sept. 11. A day in which no one will forget. I was at work when I heard the broadcast on T.V. All of us at work couldn't take our eyes off the T.V. screen. Some of us stared in shock while others cried for those dying or had already died as heroes. That morning will never ever be forgotten. We pray for those who lost their lives and we'll pray for those that are heroes and what they endured trying to save the lives of the many. Have a blessed day!

I was on my way to work when I heard that horrible news. I went to the local school that was holding a blood drive and gave what I could. I saw some Fire Fighters standing in front of a local Wal Mart holding out boots for donations to send to the fallen Fire Fighters loved ones. I gave everything I had on me. All the change in my car, in my purse and the cash I had. It was the least I could do. I said my prayers for the lost and the loved ones that where left behind. I thought of them often. I watched the news and cryed and cryed about what had happened. I became very bitter at what had happened. I wanted the B@stards heads on stakes and I wanted to scream.
As much as this still hurts, I also want to thank all the men and women who risk their lives day by day to fight to protect our freedom. I want them to know that I will never forget their sacrifice to help keep me and everyone else in this country safe from harm. May God Bless You and Keep You Safe!
We need to stand strong on this depressing day and remember all of those who lost their lives on that September Day.
God Bless You All

I hope no one ever forgets........we can't forget or it will happen again. I was home, my sister called knowing my husband at the time had family there. We gasped as the we saw the second plane hit, when the third hit the Pentagon we knew we were under attack. Then the kids and my ex opted to go to school....it was hard to breath when all of a sudden Army helicopters were flying low over our neighborhood.....it was a very sad day, a very shocking day, one which opened our eyes. I wasn't immune and wasn't surprised when it happened. My cousin was killed on Pan Am flight 103, so we knew terrorists hit home, that the US was a target for a long time.....
We have to fight for our freedom, it isn't free, yet so many take it for granted....Bless all those who watch over us so we can sleep at night, so we can go to work, to school etc. The enemy is at the gate, but the brave men and women in military service protect us as he sleeps.

Yeah I remember and as matter of fact i was in a class teaching children. I was substituting in a history class and I will never forget that day. I didn't have to burst out with pride for the red, white and blue. I always had and still do have pride.
Perhaps those who respond negatively to this would not be so negative if they had lost somebody that dreadful day.
God bless America. Thank you to those fighting for her.

I am not at all religious, and I do not dwell on what happened, but I do remember exactly where I was when it happened, I remember the people who were around me, and I remember everyone's mouths falling open in shock as we logged on to cnn.com and I was actually the one that read the updates out loud, and as we refreshed the page every 10 minutes, there was something new written, and there was talk of each plane crash.
I was fortunate enough to not lose any loved ones that day, or any day thereafter to the war. I feel bad for the people who did lose someone.
I don't talk to God, but I do have compassion and I do remember.
